I like the way these clubs look. That has so much to do with why I bought them. I think Taylor Made clubs tend to get a little too loaded with colors, crossbards, and logos. However, these have a clean, simple appearance.

I chose the LT irons because they hit the ball lower. There is a smaller flange so the ball doesn't go as high as the HT's (which are considerably cheaper).

Fantastic set of clubs! I play the DG s-300, and this combo is unbeatable... Sadly i broke the shaft on my 7-iron, so Im thinking of trading them in for the new R7-TP. It just have to be a TaylorMade!!!

I'M 63, and a 6 handicap. The Taylormade Lt's are my third set of irons since 1963. I have soft-stepped sensicore Tru-Temper Gold stiff shafts in them to reduce vibration with older wrists and elbows. I find them to be visually pleasant--thin topline profile, bendable as to loft and lie, and you can work the ball with these. All that and they are forgiving too. It's too bad Taylormade quit making them in the ever increasing effort to make people buy new clubs. I may have these until they plant me.

I haave tried the Taylormade R7 XD irons a playing partner uses--My God--no wonder their ads say "this is the longest 6 iron you'll ever hit" because it is 4 degrees less loft than my Taylormade LT 6 iron.

I am 16 years old and i have been looking for some irons that play really well and that will last me a ittle while. I played this past summer with some ping G2i clubs and they were really nice. At the end of the year i then switched to some cleveland CG4's which were quite nice but the face was to big and not quite bladed enough for me. Just the other day i went to golf town and found myself hitting a 6 iron 200-215 yards which i was so happy with. I bought them and went directly into an indoor driving range. The clubs are at tour caliber level and also a great club for some one like me shooting low 80's to get into the 70's. Overall these clubs have been fantastic and i have added a minimum of 10 yards to every iron in my bag.

Outstanding irons! I have the 3-PW with Rifle 6.0. I don't find the trajectory low, in fact I think it is a little high... maybe the Rifle shafts... What a great design... thinner top line, nice size face, very little vibration, medium sole size... These irons have great feel, and are much more accurate and controllable than anything I have played with the possible exception of some top end blades... but the added forgiveness, which is substantial compared to a blade makes this the best all around iron I have yet owned. Distance is good, but does not seem artificially "juiced" like some of the new models like the r7 XD... the long irons are pretty easy to hit, but I have the 3 and 4 Callaway Heavenwoods, which are great. These are VERY reasonably priced now, and very much worth a try!

I am 15 years old and i have tried and tried to find a set of irons that will take me from shooting 80 to 82 to the 70's. THat search is now over . I have played 3 rounds with theses clubs and have shot 77 both times adn a 38. When you miss it it doesnt go that far behind when you hit it. My shots go nice and semi-high. These are perfect clubs if you are looking to take your game to the next level. I had tried everything titleist they had no feel i tried the ping G5 THEY WENT WAY TO HIGH,I tried all the callaway there are and they all went high and lost alot of yards, Tried Clev. Ta6 those were alright, slingshots weird feeling, and nike nds they didnt give me any more that what i had with my tommy amours. Overall these clubs are awsome.

I read this site from time to time and have noticed that people, although trying lots of clubs, tend only give reviews to clubs that they like. I am a bit of a Iron junkie and have used numerous sets of irons over the last 18 months. I am left handed and tend to shoot in the 70's more often than not and have been playing off 5 & 6 for the last 18 years. I bought a set of these irons not long ago. I had been using a set of Taylor Made 200 irons, which I was pretty happy with mainly because of the extra distance they gave me, but I have always struggled a little hitting "offset anything " and after a while I felt that the offset face was causing a slight pull that I just couldn't get rid of. I have always played with a slight fade and these irons just wouldn't do it for me in the end so I bought a set of the RAC LT'S as I thought I would try more recent Taylor Made technology combined with the more traditional look of the set ie. no offset. They looked great at address and they definitley had that "I'll love hitting these" look about them. After about 2 months and approximately 20 rounds I have given them the flick. I lost about a half to full club distance, especially with the shorter irons. I couldn't hit the PW more than about 80 metres and for an alleged LT (Low Trajectory) iron, the shorter irons went too high with weak ball flight. These had regular flex graphite shafts installed but although I usually use DG S300 steel shafts, I dont think this was the reason. The heads seemed too light and the face response was inconsistant. I had to swing very hard with perfect contact to achieve what I would have considered normal distance and accuracy with other Irons I have used with a smoother slower swing. I am now using a set of Cleveland TA2 irons which I am happy with at present, having regained much of what was missing in the RAC LT's. I was very dissappointed in this set overall.

A quick summary. I am an 8 Hcap that played Cleveland TA4's for the last 6-7 years. I still believe the TA4's were some of the finest irons made in their price range at that time.

That being said, the RAC LT's (2006 version, not sure what the LT1 or 2 is) are the best irons I have ever hit. They are buttery even off the toe and while not the longest iron I tested, seemingly the most consistent (which I will take every time). They are marketed as a mid launch but are considerably higher than the Clevelands while also gaining 5 or so yards (love that new technology).

I upgraded to the Royal Rifle 6.0's (stiff) as my Clevelands were also Rifles and love the shafts. I just think it is a smoother kick.

At $650 out the door with the shaft upgrade I just dont see any better value out there. I hit a 7 different model irons (5,7,PW) before buying and some felt similar but none felt better.

My first round, a nine holer with the old man netted a 35. Pretty short course but 35 is 35 in my book.

Just my opinion.

Tee it high and let it fly all.

Customer Service

Custom order (1" extended, 2 degrees flat (tall guy with a flat swing), mid size grip) was handled perfectly.
