Purchased my clubs used. I was drooling all over myself when I saw them for sale as I have played similar clubs all of my life. These are so beautiful to look at, I just had to have them! The set is 3 to 54W. Steel, stiff. Ball flight is med. to high and workable. Ball explodes off the club face. Even though my age is 76, these clubs excite me. Best for lower handicap players using a ball that compresses easily with their swing speed.

Have played for 30 years and carry a 5 handicap. I was intrigued by these irons and had never owned any TM irons so I thought I would try them. I have a weakness for golf equipment and have a surplus in the basement. I got the combo set (3-6 cavity back & 7-P muscleback). Got them used and they are a very attractive club. These set up just like a blade iron would (Mizuno MP-14 or 29) and therefore have a very small head with a narrow sole. If you cannot consistently break 80 then look for something a little more forgiving. I generally have a low to mid ball flight. My first round with these irons showed a mid-high ball flight. Yardage seemed to be consistent with other iron sets I have. Again, I wish to restate that the heads are smaller, blade-like in design and would trend toward someone with a single digit handicap.

Love these irons! I haven't played since I was 17, and now at 30, have had 7 rounds since picking the clubs back up, shooting all in the mid-high 70's. Picked these up 2nd hand and feel great about the purchase. Yes these irons aren't ass forgiving as your standard cavity back, but who cares. When you hit it clean, you surely know it, and if you don't, you know what you need to do. They have softer lofts than 'normal' clubs these days, but I didn't find I have had to club up to make up the distance as these hit super pure. Love the look, love the feel, love em

First off, I shoot in the 80's and have an 11 handicap, but my issue isn't ball striking. I hit my target from the fairway consistanty (7/10) to 10 yards from 190 out. If this is you, then go hit these clubs. I am a titleist snob, and never thought another iron would be in my bag.
I like a club that sets up with a thin top line and straight lines from hozel to toe; that with today's clubs limits me to a blade, even if I wanted to hit a cavity back.
As for feel; they are slightly behind Titleist and Mizuno's on what we should call the "butter" scale, but well ahead of the Nike TW VR blades. However, on the "forgiveness" scale they are well ahead of all of the other companies. I don't believe a bad swing should be rewarded, but if it is so penal as to kill your confidence, then it can destroy a whole round. A less than perfect swing (with these clubs) will not throw your round into the duffer's pergutory like the t's or m's will.
If you're like me, then I'd recommend hitting them, or even playing a round with them, if the retailer will let you. I think you'll be surprised.

I got my musclebacks in 2004. I put Rifle 6.5 flighted steel shafts and Lankin full chord grips on them. These are by far the finest clubs I have ever played. After just a few months of owning them I went to Kauai and PARED the Kiahuna Plantation course! I was there 10 days and never shot higher than 77, including Poipu Bay! The amazing look of these clubs (especially at address)is matched only by the power and feel. The feel and feedback is equally amazing, providing great workability. They are definitely a player's club, however, as they are not very forgiving on mis-hits. I would also use head covers because they get dinged easily. Mid-to-high handicappers should probably not use these irons, But if your on, these babies are sweet!

I picked these clubs up for $199 with projectx 6.0 shafts. I am one of those guys who believes that your game/swing will only be as good as your clubs allow. When you have game saving irons, they will not provide enough feedback to let you know your swing is off. To me they (GSI's) reward poor swings and therfore will not provide a proper base for improvement. These clubs provided that needed feedback/base. I hit them as far as I hit my mx25's give or take 3 yds. If you have a real passion for the game and want to improve, don't be affraid of these clubs. Yes my swing is improving and I am hitting them with confidence. P.S. I love the way they look at address.

I play the RAC TP MB irons. Definitely a "Player" iron only. Small sweet spot, great feedback to the hands, and easy to work the ball and control flight. I've got the Rifle 6.0s in them which sets up for a little highter ball flight, which is great for mid to high irons of course. Great looking irons both from the back to the look over address. Of course, being forged irons, they are easy to ding up while banging up on eachother in the bag so iron covers are highly recommended for these clubs. Great club and will be playing these bad boys for some time to come!
