I always thought these stories were fake until last weekend when I went into Golf Extreme. I was looking at a nice set of Bazookas when I was interrupted by a very attractive sales woman. Her name was Sarah and she was wearing all Puma. She suggested I try Titleist, Rocketballs and Cobra. She led me into the private simulation room and told me to take my stance and point my shaft at her. She had a commanding presence, to say the least. As I was contemplating my next move she juggled the balls and looked quizzically at me. She told me I needed a stiffer shaft and helped me achieve that goal. Finally, toward the end of our session she told me to give this last one my best effort and drive it deep. I tell you, it was by far the best feeling and most satisfying experience I've ever had in a golf store.

While I was there she introduced me to the art of putter fitting and taught me how to get it into the hole with the least amount of strokes possible. After awhile it seemed like it was the easiest thing in the world and I felt like a complete stud. She told me I could use her anytime I wanted as long as she got the commission.

I highly recommend these irons as well as the sales lady that got me straitened out.

Personal and private is the best way I could describe it.

Recently purchased AP1 710 with NS Pro 105T steel shafts. I am a 14 handicap and typically shoot and typically shoot hi 80's to low 90's. I used these clubs at Torrey Pines (rental) and never hit irons so well. Bought a set to replace my Big Bertha's and they are phenominal. So easy to hit, I am amazed. Super forgiving but you can still work the ball, I have been able to finally hit a decent draw. Played about 10 rounds so far - all below 90 and 6 below 85. I probably shaved 4-5 strokes/round already just hitting consistent mid-irons. Awesome clubs and worth the investment.

I had it narrowed down to the AP1's and Callaway Razr X Tours. Need some forgiveness and little offset, as my misses tend towards hooks. The AP1's were just a little more consistant for me. When fitted properly, they were very consistant. They should be in the bag for a while with the 910 driver and fairway wood as well.

I recently bought these and they improved my scores dramatically! I was a bit nervous about purchasing these because I am considered a golfer with a high handicap, but let me tell you it changed my game. My game improves every round! If you are thinking about purchasing these STOP THINKING AND GET THEM you won't be disappointed.

Due to back problems and reduced swing speed I have been struggling with my iron play for a while. Even though I have been fitted I have gone through my share of new iron sets. Recently I ordered a set of Titleist AP1 irons 4-GW with the Aldila 75 gram graphite shafts in regular. The first time out I broke my personal low score recored of 76 by coming in one under par at 71, and followed that up today with a 74. For me these are smooth feeling dart shooters with more than enough forgiveness built in. These irons are the most accurate I have ever played with, and for the first two rounds go exactly where I point them. Great sticks highly recommended for the mid handicapper.

Customer Service

fairly quick delivery, and more importantly no mistakes.

The Titleist AP1 irons with NS Pro 105T steel shafts are great! I find my ball flight higher and also gained in distance. I like the look of the clubs which isn't too thick when viewed at the address position. At impact, the ball feels like it's held back a fraction of a second and then springs off the club face. The heavier bottom feel on the club gives one a feeling of a solid hit everytime and promotes confidence. These clubs are giving me more rounds in the 80's now...perfect! Definitely a game improvement club for 18-22 handicappers.

These clubs are the best irons I have ever played with in the last 16 years. Extremely hot of the face, the best feel wether you hit a prov or not, and at address there is a complete confidence standing over the ball that I have never felt before. These irons are so good it made me want to come on here and share with everybody. Just inlove with them. Worth every dollar. There amazing.

Model Reviewed: Titleist AP-1 irons

Recently I bought the Titleist AP-1 irons with the Aldila 75 gram graphite shaft. The club looks beautiful and in the address position, the top line does not appear too thick and off set is moderate. I was immediately able to get more height and at least a half a club more distance and found the club easier to swing than my previous irons (probably due to the lighter graphite shaft, a lower flex point, and weighting in the head). I had played Hogan Apex Plus irons and then Taylor Made R7 (both great irons!) but was able to achieve a higher and slightly longer ball flight with the AP-1s. (Not everyone may want the higher flight but I found I was losing swing speed and carry the last few years and needed the help these new clubs provide. A higher flex point in the shaft can produce a somewhat more penetrating flight.) I don't work the ball a lot but have found these relatively easy to fade and a bit harder to turn over which was surprising since I generally hit right to left. (On the other hand, it is Nov. in the Northeast and my game is not at its peak.)
A great iron for those who want to combine a relatively traditional look with a lot of technology. While I wouldn't say these are game improvement irons, they are much easier for me to hit high and with good distance than the my previous iron and steel shaft combination.
Finally, get fit or try different shaft-head combinations, which Titleist's fitting system allows you to do.

Customer Service

Excellent. Titleist has one of the best customer service departments around. I have dealt with them many times and always find them helpful.Incidentally, this is the first time I am playing Titleist clubs other than wedges.

Hogan Apex Plus Iron,s Callaway X-16s and most recently Taylor Made R7s. All great irons. This time I wanted more forgiveness and a higher trajectory and the AP-1s gave me both with a relatively clean traditional look. Did not get a chance to try the new Taylor Made or Callaway Diablo irons so I can't give a comparison.

Very nice clubs. Great feel and pleasing to eye at setup. Slightly high trajectory. Not a fan of the grips.

Found increased accuracy and they just seem easy to play with.
