The only drawback is the price...great irons if you have a solid swing. Long irons fly a little higher than expected, and each club is about 5 yards longer than previous set. Very easy to work the ball left or right. A little heavier than previous sets I have played, but not grossly so. Not sure how much of the heavy feel is the heavier shafts-either way, these feel very stable, and handle balls from the fairway or light rough very nicely.
Note: If you do not have a solid swing, these are not the right sticks for you...if your swing gest leaky, so can your shots.

I have had my eyes on a new set of clubs for approximately 6 months. For those who don't know, I am very successful on the course and in the business world. I play my golf game like I run my company, tight. Bought these clubs on a whim at the local Dick's. Took these little treats to the range and smoked em. Hit 3-8 at an acceptable height but did ballon the 9 and wedge a little with my natural swing. I like the look of these clubs. They look nice good going into and out of my Lexus, Benz or Escalade. The women at my club love me and enjoy watching me bomb shots at the range. I try to ignore the comments they make about my arms and back, but it feels good. The husbands get mad but what the heck, I can't help their lacking in golf skills or looks. Anyway get the clubs but don't expect to change your game into mine though. AP2's are where it is at.

I was looking for an iron that would provide more feedback than I was getting from my game improvement set and the AP2s seemed to have the right mix. You can feel off center hits but they dont punish you. With the CG higer on the face you also have to hit down a bit more to get to the sweet spot which has improved my ball striking and accuracy.

I have also found that these clubs have a higher ball flight than one would expect, which I immagine is due to the Project X shaft and the tungsten nickel box. The lofts are also 2* weaker than my old set. The ball flight is beautiful but caused some problems at Bandon Dunes where a low runnung shot under the wind is preferable. This is a shot I am sure I can add with practice however and the ability to hit high soft short irons that seem to float down on a parachute is incredible. Even the 5 iron lands softly for me though I admit I took the 3 and 4 out of the bag and replaced them with hybrids.

All in all I would recommend this set to golfers of any skill level, even mid/high handicappers who are committed to getting better.

I just got my Titleist AP2 irons the other day and since then i have taken at least 5-8 strokes off my score. It is awesome! The soft feel of these irons are exeptionals and they dont sting my hands on mis hits like my old Callaway x-22 tours. All in all they are easier than i thought to hit and i like them.

Just picked up my new AP2s and after a few range sessions and one round, I'm very impressed. Coming from Hogan Apex Plus irons, the AP2s a delight. The Project X shaft is a bit lighter than I'm used to, but not a problem. My only concern is that the PW and 9 tend to balloon a bit more into the wind, but I found that was easily handled by setting the ball back just 1.5". Short iron knockdown shots are not quite as easy to pull of as they were with the Hogan blades. (Probably a characteristic of the higher launching Project X more than the club head. With S300 shafts they would fly lower, I'm sure.) But what is really impressive is the performance of the mid and long irons. Fantastic launch, accuracy and feel, and the perfect amount of spin. The 8 - 6 are near perfect, and the 5, 4, 3 land softly and stop in one hop. Sweet.

A bit expensive, but overall I couldn't be happier.

Customer Service

Titleist is backed up big time. Very slow response for custom orders. I've ordered a driver and it has been almost two weeks. :(

Delivered quality is top-notch, though. :)

I love these irons. Had a chance to buy them for a bargain on eBay. They were counterfeit. Luckily, I am a well educated golfer and could easily tell. I am writing this to warn anyone who is not that educated, however, to be careful when purchasing these clubs on ebay. There is a lot of scamming going on these days. I got my money back and got to keep the crap sticks as well because ebay was on my side... Maybe I will use them for something... decoration perhaps... maybe I'll just act like they are real and try to look cool with them like famousdavis says :-). Either way be careful. Now to the review. When I had the chance to actually play the real AP2's I was blown away. My buddy works at a local country club and they frequently let us take demo sets out on the course to play. I will say that I normally play Mizuno Pro II's. An older club, yes, but I still am yet to hit an iron I feel has the control and especially the great buttery feedback of those; particularly the 3,4, 5 irons. That being said the AP2's blew my mind away. They play just as good and given sometime to get used to the thickness compared to my thin Pro II's I may dare say even better. I would go as far as to say these are the best irons on the market right now and will be for a long time. The only thing that saddens me, is the price. You have to be well off to be able to afford to play irons of this quality. If you want something cheaper, I would go by some old Mizuno's :-). Also, Titleist models from 3 or so years ago are selling for cheap. Just be careful, and don't expect them to play as well as AP2's. By the way, does anyone else feel that Mizuno doesn't make irons as well as they used to? I have tried MP-30, 32, 33, 37 and 60 and still find my way back to the Pro II's, a club made in the late 90s.

I love these Irons
before i got these i had the 735CM's with a 14HCP
now im an 8HCP and what i like about these ap2 irons compared to the 735cm's:
1.when u miss the ball its that of a hard punishment and it doesnt hert ur fingers..it feels always soft.
2.the stock shafts are much better.i used on my 735cm's the s300 now i use the project x6.0 that adds hight and distance.
3 theym might look big but when u see them in ur own eyes the heads are small and when u look at the head from hitting position it looks like a blade
4i can say these irons preforme like blades but u cant compare them to the zm/mb
5! i suggest these irons for anyone that is thinking of getting full blade ...the ap irons will be a good practise for him before he gets the real deal-new MB's
when i mean practise i say 1.5 ys or 2 seasons
when u reach a point that u can fully control ur shots consistently and almost never have a miss on a round of 9
then u r ready to get the full blades
atleast thats what im doing and it works pretty good.

I'm going to sound like a commercial but these are the best irons I've ever hit. I'm a club junkie and I've changed quite often but when I tried the AP2's I feel in love.

Solid feel, great workability, and super control. I would reccomend them to anyone 12 handicap or less looking to get better. Dropped my handicap from 9 to 6 and the only thing i changed was my irons.

You won't regret this purchase. ( Go on ebay and pay around $500.)

I belong to a country club and play 4 days a week. I'm a scratch golfer so if you want a valuable review keep reading. The AP2 is just OK. I would have expected more for the money. They are a little clunky, a little too flashy and the feel of the Titleist ZM is just not there. Mizuno has done the same thing with the MP-30, Mp-60, MP-57, etc. They just don't feel as good as a real blade. In addition, they aren't as accurate either. Believe it or not, the most accurate iron I've ever hit is the Wilson FG-17 and I've had my lowest scores with them. If you pay $899 for a set of AP2 irons then I think you've made an investment in trying to look cool instead of playing well. I haven't met anyone yet who's bought these irons and has improved their iron play. But, alas, let the Koolaid pour.
