The courses we play are all pretty lush and soft. The 670 design is the best of the blades for this type of turf. Very solid feel and excellent trajectory control. I will switch the stock shaft (TTDG S300) with a lighter weight steel or standard weight graphite to make it easier for this old man to swing.

Customer Service

Purchased on eBay, no customer service. These were a little rougher than advertised so I am having them refinished.

Received from US seller, as bought from e-bay. Stunning clubs. I have always played with blades from golfing day 1, and these are just as good as the others. Look better, as smaller head, and feel the s400 shaft better for me than the s300. Not as hard to hit as people think, as few other golfers on range have tried and loved them, and some between 10 - 15 hcp. If you can get them, well worth it. Just a shame we in UK are 5 yrs behind the US !!

Exceelnt when ever used.

I played these irons for a bit. They are fantastic. Very forgiving for a forged blade. I now play the 690.MB (please see my review for a description of why and my experience with muscle backs generally). As it relates to the 670, having played both the 690.MB and the 670, I think the difference between the clubs is half cosmetic and half functional. In the difference that is function, the 670s really perform well if you hit down on the ball. To illustrate this point, the 670 7I has more than twice as much bounce as a 690.MB 7I. “Downloaders” will get some satisfaction from the 690.MBs but nothing compares to the feeling of taking a good divot with a 670. It’s really out of this world as I discovered on a few ¾ swing knockdowns with the 7I & 8I. The 670 blows through the turf like a hot knife though butter. The club was simply made for that modern compress-the-ball-against-the-ground-with-your-body swing. The 50% that is cosmetic has to do with the fact that the 670s are smaller and “thicker” than the 690.MBs. In fact, the 670s set up much like the 690.CBs of all things – thick top line with a very boxy look at address. If you like that compact look above the ball, you’ll get confidence from the 670s/probably won’t like the 690.MB’s razor-thin top line and longer blade. From a performance perspective, the 670s were made for downloaders, the 680s for more traditional sweepers, and the 690.MB is a bit of a compromise between the two. Having said that, I think it all starts with appearance. What do you want to see when you stand above the ball? A thick top line/boxy club or a razor-thin top line on a long blade.

Customer Service

Great customer service at Titleist. However, when you call be specific about what you want (i.e., I need to talk to someone who has experience hitting these clubs, etc.). When you get to the right person, they will talk you ear off.

I think the difference between these and and most other forged-blades is largely cosmetic. These are visible smaller than most blade (approximately the same size, or slightly smaller than Mizuno's MP-37), but are still actually quiet forgiving (for a blade!). If I had to acknowledge a difference, I would say they produce a lower trajectory (which for me, equates to more distance) and feel slightly crispers than there rivals. Personally, I prefer the feel to the, subjectively softer, Mizuno because they seem to communicate to me more. On the down-side, these clubs ding much easier than any club I've ever owned (see below) and they are expensive :(
