Tommy Armour Golf Morph Irons

Tommy Armour Golf Morph Irons

DESCRIPTION

New Morph Irons from Tommy Armour are the first production irons to incorporate three unique head designs with three proprietary Rifle Flighted shaft technologies. In long irons Morphs feature a two piece deep cavity design with the center of gravity moved back in the irons to help golfers hit higher, straighter shots with greater consistency. Long irons are matched with High Lanuch Rifle Shafts to assist in higher trajectories and tighter shot dispesion. Mid irons feature a mid-cavity design and are matched with Mid Lanch Rifle Shaft for greater control and optimum spin on approach shots. In short irons, clubheads are blade like with emphasis on feel and finesse. All heads are made of 431 stainless steel with three proprietary Rifle Flighted shaft flex patterns developed for the company by Royal Precision. Morph irons are available in regular and stiff flexes in men's right hand and left hand models, feature Tommy Armour Crossline grips by Lamkin.

I bought these clubs a couple of months ago because of several reasons: 1) Good reviews in various websites, 2) I liked the sound of the various designs (short, mid & long irons with different shafts and head cavities). After using these clubs for several weeks, I have mix feelings about them. Pros: All clubs from 3 to SW are easy to hit. Cons: too much gap in distance between the clubs with different designs. I hit the long and mid irons approximately the same distance as my old clubs, but the short irons have much shorter distance due to the blade design. If you want to buy these clubs, try them out first at the range or at a simulator, check the distance between the 9 & 8 irons.

I wont get into details of how far I hit what iron, or how many greens I hit in Regulation. But I will comment on the value and quality of these irons. they may not have made the golf digest recommended list, like some other irons in the same price range, but if you compare apples to apples, such as the Rifle shafts that come standard, the lamkin grips, alone with the clubhead design. these may be one of the best kept secrets in golf because of marketing. Every retailer I called inquiring about these clubs, said they're just not selling. and after looking for reviews, I would have to agree. good things I'm not a follower, because I would have never tried these
