Model Reviewed: Top Flite X2 Pro Irons

I have had a set of Top Flite X2 Pro irons with TT Dynalite Gold Regular shafts, for just over a year now.

I bought these irons cheap at an outlet. I think the X2 Pro went out of productions a couple of years ago, so these were leftovers at a great price.

I had tried these X2 and the Tour model out when they came out and knew they were good clubs.

The standard X2 (I think one model is called blue and one silver or something like that) were a bit too bulky for me and had some offset, very easy to hit but not my style. I prefer the muscleback style over the deep cavities normally.

These Irons are more slick, not as big cavity and virtually no offset.

The first thing that struck me with these irons is how easy they are to hit. I prefer them over the Tour model actually.

If you hit off center etc. they still respond very well. So in that sense they are really forgiving.

With the little offset they are also (for me) very easy to line up, and surprisingly easy to work the ball. I must say that this was perhaps the biggest difference from the Tour model. The clubs remind me somewhat of the Taylor Made LT actually.

So on the plus side they are very forgiving, easy to work the ball and lines up well.

On the course these clubs are great for me, I usually play in the mid 80's and want a club I can work with, that is forgiving as well. These clubs are easy to hit from the rough, cuts through the grass easily. From the fairway they are very easy and reliable. Especially at the end of a round when I usually get a bit tired, it is soo easy to get a decent hit with these clubs.

There are not that many downsides to this club. But if I am picky I would say that the feel is not as good on a clean hit as some of the other clubs I had (for example my old Snake Eyes 600C).
The clubs responds more or less the same if you have a good hit as a slight off-center hit.

I would also say that the distance of these clubs are not the longest Ive hit (the Snake Eyes went further for example). This may be due to the shafts though, on these I have TT dynalite gold regular, and on the Snake Eyes TT gynamic gold stiff.
Not a huge difference, but noticable when I hit the sweet spot.

All in all I would say that this set of clubs will stay in my bag for a very long time. They have pretty much everything i need. Easy to hit, good setup, and easy to work the balls. I could not ask for more.
