i just love these clubs, the looks, the feel, the forgiveness, the textures and the sheer joy they bring me. i am quite fussy about grips but the lamkin grips on these feel perfect a badly hit shot has never hurt my hands they are very absorbing of the vibrations they muscle through rough effortlessly and and they have dramatically improved little chip shots lots of hang time in the air and i have become a more consistant ball striker with help from the fatshaft technology ,beautiful grip, massive sole, etc etc etc have come from +40's down to +20's in the 6 weeks of owning these nuff said and nuff respect.

Oh My!! I am a hacker, but these are really good. I can hit the 3 iron, which is unusual. Have gained 5-10 yards per club, and accuracy is good. These really feel sweet.

The reviews here are consistent with my assessment. I''ve looked at other review sites and some of the comments are simply wrong. These clubs have taken 4-5 strokes off of my game -- that simple. I used to shoot in the lower 80s and stopped playing. I started up again a few weeks ago. My scores are dropping each round. If you are over 30, buy the regular flex Hypercarbons. These things are so thick in diameter that they are stiff enough. The combination of very light shafts with a very forgiving club make for quite a few decent results with a more controlled swing. Effective iron play falls off when you swing too hard. The harder you swing, the less accurate and more mis-hits you get. These clubs can be swung at what will seem like a snail''s pace and the ball will go. There has been some feedback that the feel of these clubs is not that good. If they mean it''s hard to tell whether you hit the ball solid or not, this is somewhat true. You don''t feel much of anything - even on mis-hits. So what is the big deal with feel. You have already hit the ball - it''s too late to do anything about it. Even if you mis-hit the ball, it''s going 80% as far as a pure hit anyway. If the ball comes up a little short, you probably hit it well outside a generous sweet spot. That all you need to know. Would these people prefer that their hands, wrists and elbow feel like they have been assaulted. Buy these clubs in Hypercarbon. They are awesome and the price is low.

These irons are so easy to hit it''s like you can''t miss the sweet spot. The shots always fly straight and high. I think the thickness of the shaft really helped in keeping the club face squared at impact. These clubs are a joy to hit and I would recommend it to anybody.

Just tried my new Fat Shaft on range and it is simply amazing! Very good forgiveness and accuracy and more important, the feedback is really good. I think the iron set is most suitable for high handicappers.

I have used these graphite fatshafts for the three ywars I have been playing golf and, despite trying other clubs over the two year period, I elect to stay with my original choice. I have not found a more forgiving or longer cavity-backed club, even ones costing twice as much. They hold up well. I have played many hundreds of rounds without any need to contact Wilson. I am not very good (handicap about 20) but without these clubs I would be much higher. Clubs are available on ebay for relatively little money (the fatshaft technology having been out for about 5 years now). Try them you will like them. Also they are funky looking which I like.

Three years ago I decided to give the set of Ping knockoffs I had been using for ten years to my brother-in-law. Big mistake! I''ve gone through four sets of irons since then and my brother-in-law will not give me back my old clubs. However, this summer I saw a set of 2001 fatshaft hypercarbons on ebay and decided to give them a try. All I can say is they are incredible. Once you get used to the thick shaft they are extremely easy to hit, and they just want to go straight. I take a smooth swing at the ball and just watch in awe as they go right where I aimed. I have also added between 10-15 yards to my irons shots. These clubs have found a spot in my bag for a long time to come, and I can assure you my brother-in-law will never get his hands on them.

Great!I lost my pitching wedge on the golf course. Went to local Wilson dealer and had new pitching wedge with same oversize grip I had regripped with 5 days later.

I received my clubs this thursday and went to play a 9-hole. Shot my best 9-hole to date. I was shooting in the 105 range; and the other day shot 45/9-hole. Today I go and play a full round.
The best thing about these clubs is accuracy. I believe I saved 2-3 drop shots alone due to the accuracy. Then there is the difference between being on the fairway and the rough.

Overall, these clubs help me being straighter. On the distance front, I dont beileve they make any difference. Also, on another note; these clubs do absorb a lot of vibration and twist in my hands. I guess the physics works. Great clubs for the price. If you can overlook the wilson brand name-these clubs are better than any other top brands...pings, titelist, etc.
