Wilson FG Tour V2 Irons

Wilson FG Tour V2 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The FG Tour V2 was an immediate success on Tour. Its powerful, boring trajectory and extremely clean, classic setup with minimal offset provide the game's best players with truly the game's best irons.

Strength:

This is one of the best feeling irons I've ever hit. The 8620 carbon steel is incredibly soft and nice feeling. Although I don't believe it has an incredibly high Maltby MPF rating, let's be honest it is not exactly the end-all-be-all of rating systems and I can tell you that they are very easy to hit. Nice launch, strong ball flight. Kudos of course to WS for choosing the KBS Tour as the stock shaft because these help that strong launch characteristic and they feel dead sexy. I believe that they are stock built approximately 0.25" longer than one would typically encounter, but you may want to check my facts. One of the best sets I've ever demo'd, and I tried a bunch.

Weakness:

Weaknesses? Well, I prefer component clubs as a matter of practice and currently game with those, though I must say that I have always had a soft spot for the Wilson Staff brand. However, for those of you that DESPERATELY NEED ALL THE LASER-LIGHT-SHOW ADVERTISING AND THE EXTRA PRICE TAG THAT COMES WITH IT BY ALL MEANS MAKE FUN OF THE CURRENT "OFF" BRANDS LIKE WILSON STAFF.

Model Reviewed: Wilson FG V2 Forged

Whilst driving through my vineyard I came upon the realization that my best golf was played in my youth where upon I was equipped with forged blades and persimmon woods. I was lead man on the team and came away with numerous victories and accolades rarely given to a man of such a young age.

I decided at that moment to head over to the country club for a nice brunch followed by some discussion with the head pro on the latest equipment. After eggs benedict, a variety of fruit and a fine bordeaux I sauntered over to the pro shop where I found our head pro, Mr. Follet.

We discussed the merits of forged vs. cast and told tall tales of fortunes won and millions squandered. It was at that moment the pro introduced me to the Wilson FG V2 Forged cavity back.

Pleasing to the eye yet formidable in fit and finish. A forged players club unlike any I had seen before. Subtle lines where hosel meets the flange. Beautiful chrome work and exceptional face progression. A work of art indeed.

My best friends Tinsley and Skip entered the clubhouse and were curious as well. I explained to them that the Wilson franchise had extended beyond their high performance Wilson Duo and had created a club not seen since Clarence "the jug" Thompson beat an old gander up from Tillasmook.

We played 18 that afternoon and I proceeded to hit green after green and capture most of the skins for that day. I bought the spirits at the 19th hole and shared with my mates a story of a sorry lass who fell in with a sorry codger. Oh, the stories we told.

Well mates, I have nothing but praise for the Wilson FG V2. It's an iron that will take you places only the elite normally travel.

Good day.

I can't imagine calling an 800 number only to be put on hold. How common.

Have played many different irons. These are the absolute best I have ever hit. The feel and consistency is just awesome. Many good irons out there, however there is just something special about these.

Great clubs. Amazing feel, better then my mizunos. Compareble to titleist ap 2 712 but with better value. Thin top, a bit larger sole and medium size head makes perfect for me. Its a players club with total control and some forgivnes. Check also out fg62 blades, more forgiving then you think.
