This is a very stable and well-made putter that gets the ball rolling straight. It's excellent for direction, but the toughest part of putting is distance. The soft milled half-mallet head with the fat sensicore shaft has very good feel, though it's a bit on the heavy side. For me that has meant that I am more likely to leave the ball short as it heads right where I pointed the clubface since the heaviness slows down my stroke.

WOW...I decided to invest in a real putter and spent HOURS trying them all. Everytime I picked this one up I kept sinking my practice putt. I kept thinking "this thing looks too weird". But I kept being drawn back it it. Pretty soon I started to think it looked pretty cool..and it felt sooooo good. So I bought it. I used to be King of the 3 putt, but not anymore. It feels heavy, but I weighed it and it was only a couple of ounces more than my old Odyssey. It's forgiving, it feels good...and now I carry it proudly...!

My drive hits the trees, my approach is in the sand, thank goodness I have the Hog 1005B so I can still make par.

I LOVE THIS PUTTER. It is the only club in my bad that I can depend on.

How many putters can you shank off of the toe, and still make putts? This is the only one I have found.

I love the weight of it, it seems 1 & 1/2 times heavier than others and promotes a steady stroke.

If you buy another putter, you are doing a disservice to your game.

most stable putter i've tried. seems to keep its line on its own. as mentioned before, the feedback isn't the greatest, but practice with the putter will breed familiarity with what it will do. got a great deal after looking for weeks for the 1004 model. (originally wanted the original but with such a deal,"settled" for the pro model). encourage everyone to definitely test out before judging based on looks

The manufacturers claim is pretty accurate. The weight and size of this putter makes your stroke much smoother. The oversize head makes alignment easy. I've only played it for two rounds so the jury is still out. I have some concerns about "feeling" the correct stroke but perhaps that is just due to the fact that it's new for me. At $79.00 on the net I think it is a great buy.

I personally prefer a mallet style putter and therefore was intrigued by this one. I really liked the setup of this putter. The shaft thickness and oversized head are not a distraction when standing over the ball. The oversized grips and weight of the putter head definitely help to encourage a smooth pendulum putting stroke. The only knock against this club (at least for me) is the feel. The Sensicore shaft combined with the aluminum head pretty much minimize any feel for the ball. I found it very difficult to manage distance control of my puts as a result. That is not to say this is a bad putter, just not the right one for me (or anyone else who prefers some feedback when striking the ball I'd imagine). The steel mallet or blades are likely better suited for this type of player. In the end I decided to go with the Never Compromise Alpha putter. Soft yet responsive.

demo'd this putter and it is so good it makes me mad...i have an odyssey insert putter that is only a year old and i can't bring myself to spend the money on a new putter. Let me tell you though, the hog series of putters is much better than my odyssey. The ball rolls truer...the club is much more stable (due to the large shaft)... and it has a much more balanced feel. Anyone who has trouble putting owes it to themselves to demo this putter. I am sure i will give in and buy one soon.

I recently decided to find the best putter for my game. I was willing to test-out everything in an attempt to find the ultimate flat stick. My search was muddled by all that the market has to offer. Inserts, roll faces, grey matter, white hots, etc... My mind was racing and nothing was jumping out at me. Until, as an afterthought, I picked up The HOG by DogLegRight. Immediately, this putter's weight, balance and feel were great. I quickly put it down and walked away from it. I wasn't gonna be seen on the course with that, that... thing! It's got a big head, a big shaft and a big butt (yeah, I'm still on the subject of golf). Eventually, I relunctantly made my way back to the HOG. I decided to buy with the promise that I could return the club within a week if I didn't like it. Scotty Cameron, Ping, Odyssey, Nooooo, I had to fall for this thing. Well call me surprised, no one is gonna get this ugly duckling out of my hands, I'm in love! Just as the previous reviewer stated, its size and weight influence a perfect pendulum motion while preventing the "yips" on short putts. I find it very forgiving on off center contact, no doubt a result of the putter's size/shaft. Also, although not an insert putter, the ball somehow feels incredibly soft and comes off the face very predictably. Distance is not only consistent, it is actually a joy to lag putt with this stick. I've only used it for three rounds now but I've never putted so consistently from round to round before. I'm enjoying my practice time now as much as my time playing. It's amazing what a little success will do for your confidence and your outlook. Truly a hidden gem, in spite of its unorthadox appearance (which I actually like now). Give The HOG a go, you just may love it too.

Great feel for true pendulum putting. Feels very stable in hands. Hate insert putters now, really like the feel of the face.
