I have used many conventional putters and not so conventional putters in my day with varying degrees of success. Currently I use either a Ping Redwood Anser or a Ping
Belly Putter. All in the hopes of dropping more putts.
I average about 33 putts per round but have a lot of trouble dropping those 7-10 footers. I have only broken 30 putts once (29). I believe that I twist the putter at impact resulting in
either a closed/open face which causes me to miss a lot of easy putts. The Heavy Putter is designed to help reduce twisting.

I tried a Heavy Putter once (last year) in the golf store and although it intrigued me, I did not buy it. I had purchased the Ping Redwood Anser in a 33" length. I felt the shorter size
got me closer to the ball and I had more control. I had varying degrees of success with it but felt I could do better. The Belly Putter allowed a more pendulum stroke but I ran hot/cold with this
also.

At the golf store the other day, I picked up a Heavy Putter (Heavy Weight) and tried putting on their 35 foot green. I started dropping 30 footers, sometimes two in a row. 8 footers were dropping constantly.
I then tried their Mid-Weight model and did not putt as consistent. Same with their lightweight one.

I went back to the heavy weight and AGAIN sank a few 30 footers and many 10 footers. Tried the other weights again and was not as consistent as with the heavy one.
Tried the Heavy Weight once more and was sinking putts. I couldn't pull out my credit card fast enough.

I bought the Q2-H model (35") since it resembles my Ping Anser perfectly. The next day I was going to play a round and went to the practice green to try it out. I was AGAIN sinking 30 footers and those elusive 8-10 footers.
The putter has a very heavy feel (obviously) and takes some getting used to. On lag putts, some have complained with a lack of feel and I agree it has a very soft feel on longer putts but only you can decide whether
that's detrimental or not.

Went to the course and played... 35 total putts! I was very disappointed but felt it may be mental since I was sinking all those long putts on the practice green.

Two days later I played again. But this time it was different. On the first 9 holes I sank three 15-25 footers for three birdies resulting in a -1 for nine holes! I ended up with 27 total putts and 9 one-putts! The best I have ever done.

Only time will tell if this putter is truly right for me, but I feel I'm off to a good start.
