Odyssey White Hot Putters

Odyssey White Hot Putters

DESCRIPTION

Features an insert made from the same material as Callaway's "Rule 35" Ball. When machined into a putter, the cover material provides both a softer feel and pleasing sound, while maintaining consistent distance control and responsiveness.

The Rule 35 insert caused problems for me. I had trouble with short to medium putts using this putter. Typically tended to sail 3 feet past cup or come up way short. I typically have between 28-33 putts with my Ping G2-C67. With this putter 36 putts!! The two ball is probably better due to alingment, but I can't recommend the White Hot #1 Putter because of the inconsistencies. Sometimes the ball comes off the face very hot and other times not at all.

I got this putter from my brother, he just bought a 2 ball putter, and I love it. The ball rolls true with no bounce at all, and it always seems to go on line, it is easy to line up, and it has nice weight to it as well. you don't have to hit it hard to get the ball rolling and the ball always seems to wind up in tap in range, I have used it a few times when my bro owned it and it worked wonders for my game. I recommend getting this putter especially if you want to cut strokes off your game.

This putter is garbage. Let me explain... I bought this putter because it was highly recommended for higher handicapped players. I struggle with putting big time, usually 5 three putts a round. Well that got worse with this piece of trash. The insert face is VERY inconsistant, some putts come off hot, some dead. I can't tell you how many one-putts turned into two-putts, two-putts turned into three-putts & some three-putts turned into four-putts!!! I've been taking lessons regularly & every part of my game has improved... Except putting, it got worse! Imagine shooting a 94 and having 7 3-putts... The 2-putts should have been one putts... Come to think of it, I've never even had a one putt with this hunk of junk. Finally I had enough of this putter. I had three very good rounds (for me), an 84, an 88 & a 94. Coincidentally, I had 6 three-putts with the 84, 7 three-putts on the 88 & 8 three-putts with the 94. More frustrating was the 2-putts that should have been one-putts. That was the end of the "White Hot" run. I went and got a Ping Zing2 putter. I love it already! Took it out yesterday & had 5 one-putts!! A first. It's more consistant, looks nice and best of all, it's not a white hot!

After finishing a round with eleven 3 puts, I decided to throw away my old zebra mallet and find a new putter. After about 5 trips to my local golf shop decided on the White hot #1. Putter looks great, and makes you feal confident when you put. After a few rounds I'm routinely sinking most of my <10 ft (8/10). Having played with a mallett for 10 years, I'm still leaving the long ones way short. Would reccomend anyone looking for a new putter to give the white hots a try

I got this putter for christmas and in the spring I took off 5 shots mainly because of how easy it is to putt with this, the insert gets the ball rolling and the weight of the head is easy to control

This club is great! Great feel, control and weight. I just started playing again after a 8 year lay off from the game. I used to be a low 80's player, and I am now looking to get back to that score. My putting stroke was good, just no confidence left in any of my old putters. Found this one at a local pro shop and I loved it the first time I stoked the ball. I just could'nt justify paying over $120 for a putter. That's when I found the Callaway pre-owned club site. Great pice for a slightly used putter, and the great thing is that I won't have to worry about banging it up, it's already got a few battle scars. Again this putter has brought back my confidence to stroke the ball again.

Model Reviewed: Odyssey White Hot #2 (center-shafted)

The Odyssey White Hot has a terrific feel that is unrivaled by any putter available. It provides exceptional roll with a very soft stroke. Unlike many putters from long range, you don't have to smack the ball to get it close on a long range putt. With a White Hot, you can stroke the ball very softly and still get it close. This putter may take 1-3 rounds to get the feel down but once you do, look for about 3 strokes to drop off your score! Good luck!

WHITE HOT #5: Although I love the looks and beautifully soft and accurate feel of this putter, the question for me, since putting is such an important part of the game, is; can this putter compete with the best putters in golf? The answer, sadly, is no. Granted, the White Hot I like much more than my Ping Isopur (read my review there), but compared to my old Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport (which I had to sell when tight on cash), I prefer the very solid and accurate roll of the newport. The White Hot, for the average player, will be just fine--they have very solid weighting that feels great in your hand, a wonderful shaft/grip combo, and an insert that gives soft feel with a nice roll (a rare combination). Sound perfect? I simply can't find the words, but when I'm on the green with the Titleist I just feel more confident and the ball rolls better--maybe I can't find the words, but the result is clear.

Do not buy this putter. I will say it has a nice soft feel but nothing past that. The weighting is awkward and the club does not provide a very nice roll.
