Excellent putter. First few rounds found the steel insert hard to get on with, however short puts you hardly have to pull the putter back. As for long puts, as ever practice makes perfect. Shot a 69 off a 5 handicap the other day. So Im happy.....

Given this putter to try out after a few duff rounds with my old putter. first few putts wasnt at all impressed no distance controll as the face is soft, hated the shaft very uncomfortable. however after an hour or so of practice anything between 5-10ft putts became okay but anything above 10ft was honestly awfull i may only be a 16 handicaper junior who started last year but honestly it was awful no distance controll and didnt like the fact it didnt have a line down the middle of the putter to align up with my ball. overall not particularly impressed alot of it down to the hype. ive moved on to a yes c groove marilyn, much much more comfortable. especially compared to the 2 ball on soft greens

Went back to the 2ball after a few years trying everything out there. No putter performs for me as well as the Ping Redwood Answer and 2ball. Two classics that stand the test of time.

Man... I really wanted to love this putter, but I'm probably gonna repeat some issues that other people have stated. I have a 34" shaft and this mallet is extremelly heavy for me. You get excellent roll on short to semi-medium distance putts, but for the longer to extreme long ones, it seems I am/was over-shooting alot of these. The feel for long putts is not great, but I guess it's kinda how it is with a mallet of this size. I really liked the steel insert w/the white insert. Oh, one last thing... being heavy, it seems that it was causing me to tense up too much while putting, sometimes causing me to go off line too often. Is it the putter's fault? Probably not, as I'm a very erratic putter. I'll keep trying to work with this putter, but I've ordered a Ping G5i mini-c putter to see if it suits me better.

To start, putting was never a strong aspect of my game.... I tried a variety of putters, including a STX Sync 7 (not a bad putter, just not in the wrong hands), and I was still inconsistent.

A 2-ball putter was recommended.

Since playing with the White Steel 2-ball putter, there has been tremendous improvement in my putting. I can now line up putts, which was next to impossible for me with my old blades.

I have reduced my putting strokes dramatically with this putter.

Prior to buying the White Steel 2-Ball putter I was using a Taylormade Daytona Tour model. I never had a problem with the weight, but I did with the putter face. The ball came off way too slow. Therefore I turned my attention to the Odyssey line that had the steel inserts. Having a putter with a hotter face allows you to have a shorter, more accurate swing path. As fellow reviewers wrote, inside 7 ft it is 99.9% accurate, 30-40 ft you can be sure you'll be two putting. Odyssey has built an incredible line of putters, that are dominating the market. They are the best.

Model Reviewed: center shaft White Steel 2-ball

For years my putting was horrible - even after endless hours of practice. After reading some articles on putters and putter fitting I realized that my current selection of hand me down putters might be my own worst enemy on the green. I went down to a local family owned golf shop and demo'd different types of putters for several hours. I came away with the center shafted White Steel 2-ball mallet.

There has been tremendous improvement in my putting since using this putter. I can now line up putts, which was next to impossible for me with my selection of old blades. The center shaft and weighting match my style of swing and allow for a controlled follow through. The ball speed off face is very predictable.

This putter has been one of the single best golf purchases I have made and is a pleasure to use.

At the begging of my 1st golf season i was playing a cheap ram putter, as i began to get better i decided i wanted to have a better putter, after visiting the local golf stores, i made the decision to get the White-Steel #5, a good putter, but i had trouble all year keeping it on plain, so i began to putt with the 2-ball, A-MAZING!!! i found one for 85 at Golf USA and got it...what a difference!!! i still had an occasional miss of a shortie...but i added lead tape on both sides and the back and i feel unstoppable on the green!! especially from inside 6 ft.

The most accurate putter I've used from inside 6 feet. Easy to align and has a nice weight- not too heavy, not too light. The metal insert creates a good, crisp feel. The lines on the top make it easier to align than the original 2-ball. There's a reason so many accomplished golfers use the 2-ball- it works.

Customer Service

Callaway service is unmatched in my experiences with golf companies. Very courteous and prompt service.
