Scotty Cameron Red X Putters

Scotty Cameron Red X Putters

DESCRIPTION

The “cabriolet” is a traditional mallet shape with the top down! Scotty thinks that the Red X mallets produce some of the best sound of all of his designs.

I never had a mallet before. My old putter was a blade, Ping Zing. The Red X seems to have a larger sweet spot than most other putters. I found the Red X to roll putts more consistantly, distance wise. But, I don't find it particularly controllable. There doesn't seem to be alot of feedback in regards to line. That makes it hard to improve the line.

Still my top putter over the Newport2 SS and others. I really love the feel coming off the face. It might be the GSS insert, or the design, but it is the sweetest feel of them all. It has always inspired confidence in putting. The look, sound and feel outrank all in total.

I am in the market for a Red X5 to try and compare. The differences may or may not make it the leader of the pack. Only another Red X model could replace this on as #1.

Customer Service

I would NEVER deal with SC's studio if ever possible. I wanted a shaft band for one of my putters, and the band is free, but the service charge is $45... plus shipping. Me thinks SC is a bit too hung up on himself and needs to get a life. For all he charges, you think he could show customers some love who support him and not try to stick it to them. Love the putters, despise the man/organization for his/their greed.

This putter looks fantastic and inspires confidence. Its got a hot face so the ball comes off it quicker than other putters I've had. I'd recommend a shorter shaft than the Std 35" if you are 6ft tall or under. 34" or 33" gives you more control.

Customer Service

Not good - I have contacted the Scotty Cameron Website with a query and not received a response. When you spend over 300 euro on his putters, you'd expect a better service.
