Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport Beach 1.5 Putters

DESCRIPTION

The new for ’04 Studio Stainless Newport Beach 1.5 combines the proven performance of the Newport design with the unique sound of the floating face, or Beach. This combination creates the perfect blend of sound and feel. Scotty takes the refined Newport head, milled from 303 stainless, wider from front to back with a thinner topline, and cuts a slit into the face of the putter, stopping just short of the topline. This ''floating face'' gives the Newport Beach 1.5 its distinctive sound.

Model Reviewed: Scotty Cameron Newport 1.5

I've Played nine rounds with this Scotty Cameron Studio Style Newport 1.5 with GSS inlay. I find it has a great balance and feel. It really shows its stuff on very fast greens. My clubs were stolen some 5 yrs ago and I've been struggling with putting ever since. I had used some off brand putter for 15 yrs and it was my bread and butter club (all my other clubs were replace over time). I have finally found that feel again. I rate the workmanship and value highest...$200 for a putter vs $500 for a Driver? why not? the putter is afterall, the bread and butter club in your bag!

Tried Ping, Tear Drop, Oddessy and Ray Cook putters over last couple of years. The Cameron has worked best for me (feel is amazing). Picking a putter is an indiviual choice, whatever feels good for you. So to say one is better, I don't know. I will say this Scotty's straight shaft and santa fe neck, along with great craftsmanship and weight balance is what make this putter work for me. I guess that's why you see so many different putters on the market. What ever you choose to use, you must feel comfortable when you're over the ball...ready to MAKE a putt. Have a great round!
