I bought this club in the off season. And when i started out in the spring i couldnt hit it well. But now it is my baby! I play with much better golfers than me, and i chip 10x better than they do and im so consistent with it! I hit all sorts of shots with this, out of the bunker, 100 yards away up hill down hill...best club in my bag!

Model Reviewed: Hogan Riviera 58 deg wedge

I have a few Hogan clubs in my bag (CFT 3 & 4 hybrids and Baby Ben Mallet Putter, which is THE BEST putter I've ever used) so I thought the good results I got with BH clubs would continue with the Riviera. Boy, was I wrong. Wedge play is one of my strong suits (index is 3.8), but this club was awful for me. Despite the fact they were decent out of the sand, I expect my wedges to perform out of grass as well. The leading edge of the sole is WAY too sharp (easy to hit fat), feel is poor (even for forged), and the glare off this clubhead is unbearable. These may be the reasons Hogan discontinued these wedges. Sticking with my Vokey.

This is a really nice wedge for a great price. The one thing that really sucks about this wedge is the face, the sun will constantly reflect off the face into your eyes as your about to hit your shot. When using this wedge make sure your tee off time is at about 6 in the morning so the sun isnt beaming you in the eyes. Has nice feel though and pritty good spin, i would recomened this for players in the 80's and below, the wedge does tend to dig into the ground sometimes.

Model Reviewed: Hogan Riviera 56* and 60*

I purchased these to compliment my new Ben Hogan irons and to replace my worn Nike wedges. I use both the 56* and 60* with the stock Apex steel shafts.

I was impressed with the balance and feel of the Hogan wedges, as I am with all of their clubs. These are solid without feeling "heavy" as my Nike's often did. The feedback reminds me of my old Titleist Vokey wedges, but with a much better price tag. I especially appreciate the way Hogan has shaped the heel grind, which makes it very comfortable to open the club in a bunker and let the bounce do the work. The reduced bounce of the lob wedge (4*) is also appreciated when faced with one of those tight fairway lies with 40 yards remaining to an impossibly difficult pin location that we inevitably encounter during our Sunday rounds.

These are a great all-around set of wedges.

Customer Service

High marks; could have something to do with Callaway's ownership now of Ben Hogan golf. Unfortunately, I think the Riviera line is being discontinued and may only be available on closeout or on the secondary/used market. I got mine for $59 each at Edwin Watts.

Purchased this beautiful wedge to complete my set of Hogan clubs. Have used this club for two rounds and like it very much. Makes getting out the trap seem simple and easy. Just swing and let the club do the work. I don't fear the sand like I used to.

I have played the Riviera 50*, 56* & 60* since April '04. These wedges are very playable. There is no lie that these cannot dig a ball out of! Spin off of these wedges is good...not too much or too little. They set up nice and have good feel on delicate shots. Overall, these clubs have made me more of a "scorer" from inside 105 yards.

Customer Service

Excellent! Very knowledgeable. I have not had to use them for repair issues.

Model Reviewed: Ben Hogan Riviera 58 Degree wedge

My Hogan GCD sand wedge is 55 degrees so the 58 degree is a great compliment to it. This club can handle any shot under 90 yards no matter the condition (fairway, rough, hard pan, etc). Great club out of the green side bunkers. Has great feel for those "touch" shots. Wasn't sure if it would match the Cleveland but it put that idea to rest the first round I played with it.

Customer Service

Never had to use. Quality of clubs is just that good.

Model Reviewed: Ben Hogan Riveria 52, 56, 60

I tried the 56 * first and liked it so I got the 52 and 60. I've been playing strictly Titleist Vokey wedge and like them too. Don't care for the Cleveland wedges. These Riveria wedges are nice and accurate and have fantastic field. For the price you can't beat them. I'd say their equal to the Vokey wedges.

The only thing I can tell you about is that these wedges are superior to Cleveland wedges that I've been using. They have great feel and feedback. They are easy to hit, especially 60 lob on a tight lie.
