Callaway Forged Wedges
Not particularly great, but not all bad. The face is compact which is nice, but the ball flight is WAY too high. I realize the whole idea of a wedge is to get the ball high and land soft, but you need to be able to control your ball flight at the same time. You don't always want to hit that high, boring shot. A good wedge should allow you to play different kinds of shots under different circumstances, all with confidence. I didn't find that with this wedge. Maybe it's because I can't stand Callaway, I don't know, but I wouldn't recommend this wedge to anyone who is looking for a scoring wedge. To me, Callaway makes clubs for the Sunday morning golfer, and not the accomplished golfer (not that there's anything wrong with the Sunday golfer), and they have proven to me that they are still aiming their aggressive marketing campaign towards that end of the market. Great club! At first, I was a intimidated of the small head size. But it actually works in your advantage. This club has great feel and is very workable. Highly recommended. Customer Service Excellent. From previous products. Similar Products Used: Titleist Vokey, Cleveland 588, Nike. |
