I have persevered with this wedge for about 2 years now. Firsly I think it is too light. I added lead tape but this did not have the desired effect. Unfortunately it has a sole shape that suits the greens on my home course. All my other sand wedges have very broad soles that tend to bounce. It is useful for short pitches round the green but I have never got much out of it for longer approach shots, preferring to grip down on my Vokey 52 degree wedge (a superb wedge in my opinion). I will continue to look out for something different.

I think the low ratings on this club are a bit overblown. Its interesting that the worst ratings are coming from golfers who list a preference for Vokey or Ping when writing about Cleveland wedges, but I guess I digress. I have practiced with this club and played a few rounds with it. The pro's would be a very soft feel around the green with the ability to knock down the ball near the hole with very little roll (at least with the 56 degree). I also like the look at address. On the downside, I do agree with the prior assessments on distance. This doesn't impact me as much as the single digit handicappers, but I can tell it doesn't fly of the face like my 48 degree wedge that came with my irons. Bottom line - if your priority is soft feel around the greens and in the bunker, then I'd try this club (if you can find one now). Nothing feels quite like BeCu.

Worst wedge by far that I have ever used. I have used several Titleist Vokey wedges and decided to try Cleveland. This wedge is very hard feeling upon impact. I have already sold this wedge and replaced it with a Vokey.

This club is decent around the green. It is sort of versatile (such as low bump and run or pitch shots). However, when you move out into the fairway it is "sub-par" (pun intended). Depending on contact the club is too soft and lacks distance or feels like hitting a rock that just will not stop rolling. Out of the sand it is acceptable. I have found myself using one of those $40 purespin things over this wedge. I would recommend one of the new Cleveland 900 series wedges.

I guess every company is allowed a lemon or two and I think Cleveland will get theirs out of the way with this particular club. I own both the 56 and 60 degree clubs and despite a lot of effort trying to like them, it just didn't work out for me on a consistent basis. In all fairness, anything just off the green that required a real easy swing wasn't too bad, but anything that required over a ½ swing was a crap shoot. I've let a few of my friends hit the club and every person came to the same conclusion! It got so bad that I went back to my clunky Callaway X12's to handle these chores (yes you read that right) and they worked out better. This makes no sense of coarse but that's how bad it got. I'm in process of switching all my irons for next season and I've recently demoed a fair number of the best brands out there. In Cleveland's defense and always trying to be fair, I've demoed both their TA3 and TA7 irons and I love them both!. I've hit their new 900 series 56 and 60 wedges and they're INFINITELY better than these wedges and nicely compliment their irons. Both the irons and new wedges work so well that I'll probably trade all my irons and go all Cleveland with the next set. Like I said, it just goes to show that even solid companies make the odd lemon here and there but nice job on the new products Cleveland!

I got this not becos of how it performs but is totally attracted with it''s look.. I could have brought the RTG or Gun Metal but I simply couldn''t get my hands off this when I saw it at this shop, brand new!! There was this 56* Sand as well but decided to get the 53* as some reviews here said the copper dents and chips easily, especially when playing in the sand.. But somewhat a surprise as I know Cleveland don''t make these anymore.. I managed to play a round with it, not much surprise or disappointment though I think the RTG would perform better.. still I''m happy to get my hands on one, a cheap collector''s item I would say..

I have had these two clubs for a year now. I hit the green from 100 yards and under with great assurance because of these two clubs. Great feel and accuracy both during approach shots and around the green. The shafts make it easy to work left or right around a tree or holding a ball into the wind. The lob is perfect for flop shots around the green. I would recommend these clubs for all levels of golfers.

good feel from like 20 yards and in...wasnt happy with the 100 yard shot. Very harsh sounding even on solid shots. Also, not much spin and the copper face dents. I would recommend the Vokey wedge over this any day or the new 900 formforged cleveland.

Anyone looking for a sweet sand wedge look elsewhere. I bought this club expecting cleveland's finest and what I got is a sw that I can bearly hit 80 yards with mediocre spin. This club should be redesigned and replaced with a softer grade of metal. Severely disappointed!!
