Cleveland RTG Wedges

Cleveland RTG Wedges

DESCRIPTION

Cleveland Golf's RTG Wedges are the most played wedges on Tour. Their non-chrome finish creates a more abrasive surface resulting in greater spin and a very soft feel.

Been using various Cleveland wedges for many years, but last year went to all RTG's. They clearly spin the ball much more than the chrome version. Play four wedges, some call me crazy, but I am never between clubs within 130-135 yards. Highly recommend. Play 43* 9 iron, 47* (PW), 51* (Gap), 56* (Sand), and Titleist Vokey 60* (Lob).

Nice control. Solid feel. Very accurate. I bought a used one and it worked out better since it was already dulled and rusty. I actually put it in some cherry coke (what I had around) to help the process. Some poeple say it doesn't help spin to have rust.
It does play better though since I put it in the cherry coke. The patina changed to a nice dark gray and actually removed some of the rust. It doesn't actually look rusty at all. BUT, the surface feels very different. It now feels like it has more friction, sticky (yes I washed off the coke). There is definitely something to the aging process of these wedges. Believe it. Try the coke, I think it'll be better than salt water, wet towels or buckets. No pitting and nice patina.

You guys looking for spin?
You guys looking for feel?
Your search ends here.

I use a 53* for 110-120 yards and a 60* for anything less than that. My average swing speed is 92 mph with a 5 iron (190+ carry).
And I'm not a big guy (5"10, 180). My hdcp is a solid 3.5.

I use a Maxfli Revolution ball with these wedges...deadly!!
((email me your ball combos..I want to know))
This ball and club combo, hit at 100%, spins back at least 8 feet every time. I've had the wedges for about 1 week (rusting naturally too) and I am able to play a 2-hop, 1-hop and suck back (al-la Phil Mickelson) with ease. Although I have to gear back sometimes to keep it close. I am experimenting with left and right spin shots...I never thought it was sooo easy to work it like that...really impressed the guys at the club. The rough? One hopper almost every time.

I used Taylor Made (tour blade) 56* & 61* and never got this stopping-power...even when they were brand new.

You will not regret this purchase.

I bought this because my pitching wedge is a 46 and I needed to fill the gap. As usual, this has fantastic feel and I would not hesitate to buy these wedges again and again and again...

Very Good Wedge-I just got mine a couple days ago, and I can already see what I was missing with my $12 Wallie world wedge--but take it from me don't try to speed up the rusting process by putting salt on a wet cloth and letting it set over night, it rusts in little spots, really ugly, just wait and let it do its thing over time.

Excellent feeling wedge which makes it easier to cause the ball to check up. Heavy head feels very solid at impact and inspires confidence.By far the best wedge I have ever tried.

This is the wedge that Lee Janzen used to win the '98 US Open at Olympic. It has a higher center of gravity, narrower flange and less bounce than the more popular Cleveland 588 sand wedge. This makes the 485 more versatile (Janzen didn't carry a lob wedge) but commensurately harder to use. If you're like me and have a much sharper short game than long game, the 485 is the kind of wedge that you can make do whatever you imagine it should do. Long, low shots that check-up so quick you can almost hear the ball screech; big-divot pop-ups that make the ball dance around the pitch mark from all the back spin; chipping with precise control of carry/roll ratios; great from real tight lies and hard conditions; open it up and maximize bounce for fluffy conditions. My one problem is I can't get it to skim through sand the way I want; I'm sure it's me but I haven't figured it out yet.

Amazing control with this club. From 95-105 yards this club is remarkably easy to hit with a full swing. Even on half swings from mid yardages this club instills confidence.

This is the only wedge I have ever used and it will continue to be. It has excellent feel around the greens and in the sand. I use it from abour 75 yds. and in, and I have great confidence that I will get it close to the hole everytime. Though a bit heavy, you can not go wrong with this club.

Their customer service is excellent. I e-mailed them on a sunday and they e-mailed me back the next day.

Beautiful Club! This is the only wedge next to my 53* that I use. It will hit anything from 85 yards and in. Nice!
