TaylorMade RAC TP Wedges

TaylorMade RAC TP Wedges

DESCRIPTION

Developed on tour, the RAC Black TP sole is ground low on the trailing edge allowing more versatility to play high, soft chips and pitches. A C-Grind sole and radiused leading edge make it possible to hit an extraordinary wide variety of approach and greenside shots without digging and with only a single bounce configuration.

this club is good, but not amazing. the grooves are bigger than normal, but are they the biggest most amazingly giant grooves, no. the face is milled which helps improve spin, but it still isnt something where you'll put it back from 20 yards. if you read some of the taylor made details on the club, the grooves put 300 rpm's more spin on the ball. WOW. you normally put 10,000 rpms of spin, whats 300 gonna do for you, not much. its a good wedge, it really is, however if your problom is spin with a wedge, take a class before you by this wedge, its all about the swing, not the wedge. if you hit the ball right, all wedges will spin it back. all in all, good wedge, and if i had to buy a wedge again, it would be this one. if you need a wedge, get this

This club is great i love the y cutter grooves i can spin it back so much and its really easy to contrl how much spin to put on it. I never had spin out of the bunker now i do. A lot of people would probably not buy it because of the term TP yet all it is, is a little plastic emblym that looks badass. The reason im giving this a 4 for value is because of the price i feel i paid 30 bucks for the TP. Any way i totally recomend it to any handicap.

Model Reviewed: TaylorMade RAC TP Wedge

I purchased a 56 deg wedge with 10 deg bounce to go with my RAC LT2 irons.

This wedge is too light and has no feel compared to a Titleist Vokey or Cleveland wedge. This thing is awful.

The quality of construction is poor. Putting a little, cheap plastic TP bagde on the back of the club does not justify the high price. Any tour pro playing these is only doing so for contract reasons and certainly not for performance

I have gone back to a Cleveland 900 series black form forged wedge. Top quality, top performace.

What disapoints me most is that in the past I had a 52 deg RAC Fe2O3 wegdge and it was superb.

Taylormade used to make good quality products. It's the same with my RAC LT2 irons. The quality of the heads is inferior to the previous model and the new T-step shafts are very poor compared to the excellent rifle shafts used in the 200/300 and original RAC iron models.

Now Taylormade seem to specialise in gimmicks and they appear to be a triumph of marketing/hype over quality and engineering.

Just bought a set of TM cgb irons, and wanted to match the gap and lob wedges to the loft of the irons. The black TPs are awesome and the grooves seem illegal they are soooo good!

I am using the 52 and 58 degree wedges and am able to hit high flops and low punchy shots easily due to versatile sole. Slightly less feedback that other softer feeling wedges eg Titleist Spin Mill but will worth it for the amount of spin generated and level of control achieved. Nice non glare finish.

Wow, what can I say? They are the nicest wedges I have ever hit, I am 15 years old and play at a 4 handicap and these were the perfect fit for my game. When I hit them for the first time they spun so much I was astounded, I had never been able to yank the chain on a wedge shot but with these wedges it wasn't even really a challenge. All I can say is you should try them because they are a really great club. Happy Golfing!

Y cutter grooves make a lot of backspin. The wedge feels really nice to swing and it feels extremely responsive when hit. It looks sweet too. I prefer it over the cg11. The rac tp is the best all around wedge i've ever hit, and ive hit them all. It's expensive but it s definitely worth it.

Being winter in michigan i am only getting little golfing in.. Ive never had a sand wedge and was in desperate need.. I went with Taylor Made based on my New OS 2 irons and knew i would be ok not ever getting to hit it... After a few times on a very cold course i just love this club.. Think it was the first time i got out of the sand on the first hit and on the green as well.. Will know more of how it performs on the green when it gets a little warmer.. But with a frozen ground it still set up nice on the green

Model Reviewed: TaylorMade 56* RAC Tour Series

Has been looking around for a 56* wedge. Don't really like the feel of Titleist Vokey (funny eh?? but just didnt like the feel). TM was having a demo day in Singapore. Tried it and it is really eazy to play the beauty!! The club looks really nice at set up too! The feel and control is just right. Probably the 10* bounce is more suitable for my swing. Vokey's 12* bounce did not give me the right feel at point of contact... Go try this TM 56* if you are in the market for a wedge. Worth a try.
