Model Reviewed: VOKEY SPIN MILLED WEDGES

this has got to be one of the best soft wedges out there. for about 2 years i've played wilson berilium copper wedges (i know, weird huh). i loved their super soft feel and playability. (this coming from a guy that has played about ever wedge out there.) but these new Titleist SPIN MILLED wedges are unbelievable. I,m using a 54 and a 60 low bounce. during my first round my approach on a short par 4 was about 85 yards in, up hill about 20 feet to a very elevated green. i took my 54 degree and over shot the pin (bad lie) on to the back fringe. my friend was on and all i hear was YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME, followed quickly by "You sand baggin SOB!!!' i walked up the hill to the green and he pointed to where the ball landed and then spun 6 feet from off the fringe to within 8 inches of the hole. the rest of the round was very similar...any half to full wedge shot spun back without effort. if you want spin...LOOK NO FURTHER!!!

the only draw back.....i play NIKE platinum ONE's and with every full wedge or flop shot there is a small scuff on the softer cover balls. You can actually shred a Pro-V1 after 2 good shots.

a little pricey as well, (new for $109) so try ebay if all else fails.

Bar none, this is the best wedge on the market. The most important thing about this wedge just isn't the spin, its the feel and distance. If you get the thick bounce versions, it is so easy to chip it the exact distance you want. Many other wedges can not say the same. If there is any down side to this club, is that its very soft so you are not going to hit 100 yard SW shots. Its just too soft for that kind of hitting. Now if Titleist can just add a 52 gap and 46 pitching wedge to the collect, wouldn't that be something!

This wedge is absolutley amazing! I have always been a bit of an experimenter when it comes to wedges and recently thought I had found the perfect sand wedge in the cleveland cg10 black pearl. Then on a whim I tried this new vokey out and all i can say is MY GOD!!! Not only does it spin the ball like nothing else on the planet, it offers excellent feel so you can judge distance perfectly, and gives way more feel than any other wedge I have played for those short pitches and knock down shots. I can honestly say that most of the modern wedges with decent grooves are OK on a fully swing, but this nwe spin milled vokey gives you "one bounce and stop" performance at distances which should be illegal!! I have actually got the balto jump back from 30 yards!! I cannot recommend this club enough. It is way better than all the clevelands

Purchased the Spin Milled (SM) Vokey from a local discount store after testing it on the chipping green. Fell in love with immediately. Very versitile wedge. Used frequently around the greens and from 100 yds with pin point accuracy. Weight and feel are excellent on both firm and heavey lies. WARNING - make allowances for approaches to uphill sloping and level greens, the spin is significant and with a half decent ball it will check the ball back up to 6 feet. The club is aptly named. Was considering replacing my old Tommy Armour 60* lob with a Cleveland 588 T/A 60* but after using the Vokey SM I have changed my mind. The Vokey is a far superior club than the Cleveland 588 T/A 56* wedge in my bag. Haven't tested the CG10 but why would I, my confidence is high with the Tit vokey SM's.
