Model Reviewed: Callaway Steelhead Plus Driver

I am a mechanical engineer and really into the technology of swing and equipment. This club has outperformed everything I have ever tried. I have demo'd most of the top newest titanium drivers and none perform for me as well as this steel one. Carry distances (excluding roll) of 260 are routine with some in the 280 - 310 range at sea level. Performance Data: 9 deg, Callaway stiff shaft, 115 mph swing speed, smooth medium-slow tempo until just before impact, flat swing plane, low tragectory, draw. Pro's: distance and ability to work ball flight. Excellent for windy conditions. Outstanding feel and distance with a Titleist wound 100 compression ball. Hot club for hitting contolled low boring draw ball flight. Cons: funky feel in shaft on offcenter hits. Rated as very forgiving, but this has not been my experience. Tends to hook easily with faster tempos. More vertical swing planes or those who prefer fades will probably not like this club. This club is not for everyone, but for those with similar swing characteristics this is a hot club. More distance is probably available by this club by installing a lower kick point shaft.

This series of wedges is an excellent buy. I purchased the 58 degree model so I would not have to try to mess around with a 52, 56, 60 combo. This way, I can carry a 52 and 58 degrees, along with a 2 iron to make the 14 club limit. The 58 has enough loft to make the ball fly high and land soft with check for short shots, but also allows me to hit shots around 85 yards for the distance. I would say these wedges are by far the best feeling and best value for your money. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive wedge, good feel, and good control, I would highly recommend these.

Great club, better price. Great amount of spin around the green, with also a good feel.

Model Reviewed: 56 deg. and 60 deg.

These wedges are excelent. The best I've used. Weighting is good and feel is solid. Clubs are very playable and shot quality is good from any lie. No problem creating adequate spin from fairway and bunker lies. Shots from rough land very soft with little release.

Very good feel, it filled a hole I had
in my game. 53 degree loft wedge I've been using it alot instead of my normal wedge and sand wedge. Been chipping much better using this club.
