Model Reviewed: wils fat shaft deep red irons

I recently purchased a set of wilson deep reds from a freind who never used these irons (4-pw including the gap wedge). I have to admit that these are the best set of iorns that I have bought in years. I have had pings, callaways, cobras and even rams. I found that I have more distance and accuracy with these irons than any of the other that I played with. Shaved 8 stokes off my game and have been on the green more than anytime with these. If you purchase these irons, you will have to go to the driving range to gage your distance. I now pick up 30 more yards with the wilson's than any other iron before. These clubs are more forgiving and accurate to the flag. I'm no longer afraid of using the long irons as in the psat because of accurancy with these irons and I now leave the fairway woods in the bag when i'm 200 yards and in. You too will like these and I highly recommend these irons to anyone who is a high handicap. One other note, I changed out the manufactured grips for golf prides.

Model Reviewed: Wilson RM 2 sand wedge

I have only been playing golf seriously for about a year now. I had previously bought a set of fatshaft irons (which need replacing) and i got a 60 degree wedge for a christmas present. I've been playing for about 3 months with a gigantic gap between the PW and 60. The other day, i was getting a private lesson from the pro at my course. He pointed out the gap and gave me the Wilson Fatshaft RM 2 Sand wedge. This thing is forged, so every shot off of the head is sweet. SO PURE!!. I went through 2 range buckets on just this club i like it so much. I have no clue how much this baby runs for, but if you get a chance, try it out or buy it if you get a deal

I used to be very proud of my scrambling ability and my short game. Almost completely unhappy with these wedges. I've played Wilson harmonized for years and been very happy with their performance, gave my old wedges away this winter and picked up a set of three wedges as a replacement putting too much stock in the Wilson name. Wish I hadn't. The signature series RM sand wedge performs alright but is short, distance is about 15 yards less than the cheap harmonized wedge. The gap wedge is a pretty good performer but you pay what I feel is an unfair price for off center hits with it, 1/4 inch toward the toe of this club will put you off the map. The 60 degree lob wedge I have determined as unhittable, hits that seem perfect produce unpredictable results. These clubs are best used for flop shots, sand shots and pitching, anything more than a half swing is trouble. I also play Wilson Fat Shaft Irons and Driver and have been very pleased with their performance. What I don't understand is how the irons can be so forgiving and the wedges are just plain evil.

Customer Service

Wilson service is fantastic, broke the shaft on my pitching wedge and they reshafted it for free no questions asked (well I did have to pay for shipping)

Model Reviewed: Wilson Fat Shaft (graphite) Gap wedge

Tried quite a few wedges in the search for one I could add to my bag. The Wilson Fat shaft gap wedge looks excellent, it inspires confidence in me so I feel a good shot is going to happen. The shaft is a large diameter graphite and really imparts all the energy I put into this down into the ball as long as I don't play a duff one that is. I find myself playing this wedge much more than my pitching wedge now. A full set of Fat-shatfs might be my next move.

After being overwhelmed by the performance and reliability of my fat irons, I wanted the wedges to complete the set!!! These are incredible....you know how they say you should know exactly where and what you can hit each club in your bag? Well with these clubs you can and will get exactly what you're trying for! Pick your flex and your in for a whole new game!! Thouroughly enjoy the look and the feel of all these irons and wedges...only problem is everyone you play with wants to try them out!!!

Customer Service

I needed the wedges to complete my set and couldn't find them at any pro shop or elsewhere and all the dealers told me they couldn't get them...so I took it upon myself to contact the Wilson rep for my area via e-mail and explained what I needed...within 24 hrs I had all three wedges in my bag, wrong flex mind you, but the firms would be in my bag asap and I was to use the others while I waited! Hats off to a company that treats the little guy with respect and service above and beyond the call of duty!!

I needed a new set of clubs. I shot the Calloway X-12's, no way I'd buy those, dull feedback, not as accurate, and ugly. I shot the Titleist 962 & 981's, they were OK, never got a real good feeling when shooting these. The Cobra cavity backs were horrible, nothing more to say. I did like the Taylor Made Firesoles, but the price was to high for me. I tried the Fat shafts, loved them, and was sold. More distance, and stable. I hit these the same way every time. On a still day I can hit any club in the bag and continously land within 5 yards! For verification I went back and hit all of the above clubs again, and still returned to the Fat Shafts! I have had these clubs for about a month now. I've been on the practice range 14 times, and played 3 rounds. I still believe these are some of the best clubs out there. I highly recommend them to anyone!
