What can i say about this bag except brilliant.I have owned several ping bags over the years & beleive they are the best money can buy.If you are a golfer who likes to keep things simple this is for you.I have managed to get a college version from tennessee usa of the ping mantis which is rare as this bag is no longer made shame.I found mine on ebay recently so they come up time to time and a must for any ping fan.

Love the bag. Perfect for carrying a full set of clubs, balls, tees, etc. Wish they were still in production. Only thing troublesome at times is the stand. Could use a little work, but still a great bag.

I love this bag. Holds a full set of clubs and enough extra stuff. Only complaint is the way it rides on my back when I use both straps. Solution? Don''t use both straps. Light bag - No problem.

Great little bag. Used to carry Datrek, also good bag but a lot heavier. The problem with most lightweight carry bags is that they have a lot of pocket space...and that pocket space typically gets filled with clothes..too many balls...too many water bottles...too much food..believe me I know. You can get by with a lot less than you think. Envitiably your carrying around a 15-25lbs bag..oops. Not only is the mantis A LOT LIGHTER to begin with but it forces you back into reality with how much crap you need to play a round of golf. With Two Small side pockets you can fit a frozen water bottle, a clean towel, balls and tees. In the underside pocket you could fit a sweater if you really wanted to and thats it! For those of you who feel a rain cover is necessary, try a small plastic bag... it weighs less that 10 grams and does a great job. Thanks to this bag I can walk any course again and my back feels great after every round.

A good light bag for the walking golfer, but the legs cut across your back while carrying the bag. I wrapped the left leg with foam rubber to make it bearable, but a poor design job on location of the folded legs.

The people who are giving this bag low scores are missing the point of the bag. Obviously it is not going to have as much room as a lot of other bags. It weighs 2.5 lbs! If you need a light bag (like I do due to a bad back) then this is a great buy. The 3-4 fewer pounds make a big difference over the course of the several hours it takes to walk a round. I have 13 clubs in my bag and they fit just fine. The lack of dividers is the only real problem, but they would add extra weight.

Not a bad little bag; love the 2.5 lbs. weight. 1st double strap bag i've had; have had some surgery on l. shoulder and am uncomfortable putting on the l. strap. But now for the consumer warning: You may have noticed two little shiny pins at top near the hand thingie that activates the legs. I notice that these have atendancy to work loose,ie, out of their holes. I presume this would let loose the spring mechanism and ruin the release action of the bag. Solution? GENLTY pound them back in using an iron. Design Flaw, but I can live w/ it. Mine has dividers and carries 13 clubs nicely. 109.00 at liquidgolf

I do not understand why this bag gets such negative reviews, it is not represented as a lightweight hoofer. When you have something this lightweight and small you will give up other features to get the lightweight etc. I own both the hoofer and mantis and switch between them during the season depending on the weather etc. I think this bag does everything it is represented to do.
