I had a Callaway Rev Bag, with lots of walking it was way to heavy. I did some research and found that the 2.5 is the lightest bag made. It is also the best bag! Able to fit 14 clubs in easily, plenty of room to store tees, ball, etc.. If you are a heavy walker and don't have this bag you are making a big mistake! And for around $100 it is aslo the cheapiest out there!!

I received the bag in three days, free shipping. Turned out as beautiful and well constructed as I had expected. I don't have a heavy built (5'8"/125 lbs)but find the bag light enough to be carried for 18 holes (mostly with my 14 clubs!). The structure of the bag feels solid and the nylon seem durable, too (not the cheap flimsy type). The straps are nice and comfortable... very padded. After they were adjusted to the correct length for my body the bag fits snugly at my bag. (Apparently the straps for 2001 models are changed... not sure how that compares to the ones I have). The rubber handle feels good. The legs are light, sturdy, and pop out smoothly when you need them. I've also used the bag on carts occasionally and didn't have any problem with fitting it on the cart.

I highly recommend this bag for anyone who would like a high-quality bag at a good price!

Customer Service

They were friendly but didn't know about the product as well as I had anticipated. I did most of the research through different websites and reviews.

===== Buyer Beware ======

My story is different. I tried to buy a Sun Mountain golf bag, but had nothing but trouble with Sun Mountain. None of the stores in town carry these bags. I had read good reviews on their bags over the net. I ordered a closeout of the 2000 model of the Pilot X bag because it was the only bag that had full-length dividers. After 4 weeks, two lost orders, numerous phone calls and a fax. I still do not have a bag and I have had to make to make all inquires to Sun Mountain.
After 3 weeks of calls on not receiving a bag from my order, (Sun Mountain has never keep their promise of doing research and calling me back). I was told that my order was lost and the inventory was now gone. I was told that a salesman had a couple in storage, but a different color, did I still want one. I reorder and was told I would receive it in 3 days. Well its four days past due and my credit card has now been charged.
I'm looking on the bright side. I don't have to worry about talking to Sun Mountain anymore. Now its time to talk to my credit card company.

Maybe this is why no local merchants or golf shops carry Sun Mountain Bags.

My advice, don’t buy unless you can pick it up locale and walk out the door. Don't mess with this company on any Internet orders. Trust me. I'm from Las Vegas and this is too much of a gamble for me.

Note: most Internet sites, don't carry the bags themselves they call Sun Mountain and the bags are shipped out of Sun Mountain warehouse. This is what happen to me. I started with an Internet retailer (name withheld to protect the innocent). After working with both companies it was clear where the problem and bad information was coming from.

Customer Service

Sun Mountain Customer Server people are "nice". They have never solved my problem or called me back, but they are "nice" over the phone. From my experience, don't get fooled and waste several phone calls thinking because they are "nice" that the problem is being addressed.

Model Reviewed: Sun Mtn. Pilot X Bag

I have had my bag for approx. a year now and can't say anything bad about how the bag is constructed. It is an excellent golf bag and I like the individual club dividers. The only down fall I found with the bag is if you wish to switch from a cart to the double strap system. In a pull cart the bag tends to spin arond aprox 45 degrees within the first four holes or so. Also have found that removing and reinstalling the staps can be a challenge when it comes time to find that perfect set up again. But all in all the bag is a nice lightweight bag that will carry everything you need and is very comfortable once setup is achieved.
