First off, all of the premium balls will go far and feel great. That is why they are $40/dozen and what the pros play. The difference to me is on wedge shots. With the ProV1 and the HX Tour, I would shred the cover on 3/4 to full wedge shots. Used the Tour Deep for the first time last week. Pulled out my new 56* sand wedge for a 105 yard shot. Hit it beautifully three feet behind the pin and brought it back 10 feet. I thought the cover was gone - if it were the ProV1 or HX Tour it would have been. The only result on the ball was some of the paint was scuffed. The cover was still very playable. Great ball.

Move over Pro V1 and HX Tour, Ben Hogan's team have created the best mid priced ball on the market. Purchased a sleeve the other day, teed up on the 1st and crunch a magnificent drive followed by an approach that sat right on target for a birdie. The feel, sound, trajectory and accuracy of this ball are fantastic. What a confidence booster. This ball backs up less than the Pro V1, which to me is bonus in terms of finding the right place to stop it on the green. Definitely a longer ball than similar competitors but the only drawback of this pill is the cover scuffs easily. It's strictly a one round ball. I can't think of any reason why mid handicap golfers shouldn't give it a try, it's a winner with me and kept me under 80 for the past 3 rounds. Great value, great ball. Congratulations Ben Hogan Golf, I'm heading to the pro shop to pick up a dozen.

Fantastic Ball. I have really tried many of the 3 layer balls and have found this to the best. Solid feel off of the driver and very long (sorry pro v1, hx tour, b330-s, hx-hot). The greatest feature however is the approach shot accuracy and spin. Always a ball mark repair with this ball. Never have done a review on anything but you really have to try this great ball.

Haven't had to use. Could they possible find the ball that my wife launched into the poison ivy?

I have been looking for a golf ball like this one for years. I had previously played the proV1 (too much spin), ProV1*(too firm)U-tri tour (too much spin), Callaway HX Tour (pretty close to this ball) and so on. I had tried the older version of this ball called the APEX tour and hated the firm feel version and the lower compression ball spun too much. Well all that is OVER! This ball is beyond anything currently offered in the market. I used one ball for two rounds of golf and it only showed minor blemishes (this was from a cart path hit). It is super long off the tee (I picked up at least ten yards) Spins great off the irons without too much spin and the best part is it feels like an old balata ball. Man did they get this one right. The only drawback I can see is that for the average golfer that loses a few balls a round cost might be a factor. However, if you are looking for a super golf ball....look no further! Mr. Hogan would be proud.

I went thru a sleeve of these over 2 rounds. In comparison to my current ball (U tri tour) the Hogans are equally long off the tee. Perhaps a bit longer if the wind is up, which it was for one round. Best feature:The Hogans are probably 1/2 club longer in the mid irons, with very good stopping ability. I thinned a 6iron and it still stopped before the fringe on the back of the green. I dont think an equally struck shot with the U-tri would have done the same thing. The short irons (8,9,W's)were about the same, in spin and distance. I hit the same yardages in to the green with the Hogans. At the end of both rounds, all three balls showed wear, maybe a little more than they should. I know the U-tri's are better in this area. All in all, I really like this ball. I had two nice rounds using them. However at $10-12 more per dozen compared to the U-tri's, I will not be switching. Someone better (and richer) than I might be able to take advantage of this balls qualities. They are most definitely a grade above the Hogan Apex series the Tour Deep is replacing.
