This ball is great if your looking for spin. But I must say that the ball falls far short on durability. I played one round and went through one sleeve of balls. My swing speed varys from 110 to 115. One hit with my 60 degree and the ball is now considered a water ball. I guess good feel and good spin sacrifices durability. Went with the Callaway HX tour and had better success with the same spin, feel and better distance.

Okay, so first let me say that I don't know what my swing speed is. I know that's supposed to be fairly important with the Bridgestone balls. I've seen several complain about the B330 being too hard, and I've seen several people say that those people probably don't swing fast enough. But I've never been fitted for clubs in my life. I know I must have fairly decent swing speed because I can hit a drive 280-290 if I hit it well (not trying to kill it), and I generally hit my 9-iron about 150. But I don't think I have "tour" level swing speed, so I went with the B330-S when I tried these.

I find that these balls take some getting used to. I haven't noticed much--if any--loss of distance off the tee with them. But I definitely lost about 5-10 yards off of my irons. Probably 5 yards in the fairway, 10 out of the rough compared to my normal shots. That doesn't really hurt my ego too much, but it did hurt my score a couple of times when I was getting used to these, because even though I was hitting the ball well I found myself continually having to chip up from right in front of the green instead of putting. And about chipping and putting...

That's where these balls really take some getting used to, in my opinion. I've never played a ball that checks like these on a chip. I'd been playing NXT Tours because I don't really like Pro-Vs, and I have to say that the same chip probably goes 7-10 feet farther with the NXT than it does with one of these. A couple of chips that I felt like I'd hit too hard ended up right by the pin and a couple that I thought I'd hit perfectly left me some unpleasantly long par-saving putts. This difference is magnified with short pitch shots. They don't roll very far at all, even when hit fairly low. And then you get on the green, and I think these feel surprisingly firm when putting. Definitely not like a Pro-V. But since the main thing I don't like about a Pro-V is that it feels like a marshmallow to me, this is just fine by me.

So overall, I like these. They do take a bit of getting used to, but they're nice. I might try the B330 to see if they get me my 5-10 yards back without sacrificing the feel around the green, but we'll see.

(3 stars for value because no golf ball should cost $45/dozen)

There are so many good balls out right now, its hard to decide what to play. While I like the feel of the Pro v1x a little better, I am like the other reviewer don't care for the big hop, check and roll. The Bridgestones check nice and back spin a bit. I liked both Callaway balls but felt the ix to be a little heavy feeling and spins back to much for me where as the Callaway i plays much like the B 330s but does not feel as good. I was once a huge Srixon fan but feel that the previous mentioned balls all out perform the Srixon and are much more durable. Give the Bridgestone a try, its a great ball.

The B330-s is without doubt the best golf ball I have ever tried. It flew at least 15 yards farther with my driver (I only hit the driver about 170 on average so that is big) and made me gain yardage on all clubs. It took about 3 holes to adjust to the distance though. My previous best 18 hole score is 97 (I am only 13. give me a break). With this ball I shot an 86. The only thing I was surprised with was the spin. It didn't spin as well as the one platinum I have been using.

After playing PRO v1's for the past two seasons, I decided to give these a try and I am not dissapointed. Given that these are cheaper than a PRO v1, I'll stick with these. By way of comparison:

PROS: Just as long as a PRO v1 with the woods and irons, and feel just as soft. The reason I like these balls better, however, is that I generate much more spin with the B330-S and therefore have better distance control. With a wedge, PRO v1's would take a big hop, then check, then roll a few feet on the green. The B330-S checks upon landing, then backs up a foot or two. Perfect!

CONS: Even though they feel soft with the woods and irons, they do not feel as soft off the putter blade as a PRO v1, which took a few rounds to get used to. That being said, I think I putt just as well with these as a PRO v1. (I never used that alignment line anyway) Also, the cover on the B330-S is not as durable as a PRO v1. They mark up pretty easily, but if you keep them in the grass and off the trees and cartpaths, one ball will make it all 18 holes.

I’m a new golfer who has been playing 18 holes twice a week now for the past 3 months and decided to move up to a better ball now that I can place the ball better. So from playing Top Flites and Wilson Ultras I got the B330 S. I love the Spin Control on this. I just choose the club for the distance and where the ball lands bam! No more than 1 to 5 feet from its landing point. I don’t know how you play but if the ball lands where I want it and don’t run OB or off the green then, this is the new ball for me!

I was looking for a good quality ball with a more consistent ball flight. I'd played Pro V1s, and liked them and scored well with them. Read a bit about Bridgestone, so I thought I'd give the 330-S a try. First thing I notices was that these balls spin like crazy coming into the green. I don't usually get enough spin on a ball to back it up on the green. I was consistently backing these up a few feet. What impressed me even more was when I hit a couple of shots thin and sent fast, low shots toward the green. I expected the ball to run off the back and give me a 30 ft. chip coming back on. I was absolutely amazed to watch this ball check up, and hold the green. Chips need to be a little more aggressive with this ball because it stops so fast. I didn't notice any loss of distance with the driver. Overall the control off the tee with a driver seems pretty good. Even long hybrid shots to the green stop well. I'm really impressed with this ball, and I think for the difference in price, I'll play these instead of a Pro V. Maybe if enough people did that, the price of ProV1 would come back into reason. For now, the Bridgestone B330-S is the best ball I've found, and the price is better than Pro V1. Still a bit over priced; but a little more reasonable.
