Callaway HX Blue Balls

Callaway HX Blue Balls

DESCRIPTION

Unlike any other ball on the market, the solid core, three-piece HX features a patented tubular lattice network that results in 100 percent surface area coverage. The design improves low-speed lift and reduced high-speed drag to give you a more penetrating trajectory, greater carry, more roll distance and unsurpassed flight stability.

Best all round ball on the market. Although not known to be long I find these to be extremely long off the tee (no noticeable difference to the red or black HX). Holds line very well with a high, penetrating ball flight. Other premium balls do have these same qualities but shots into and around the green is where this ball really stands out from the rest. I have used every premium ball out there and no other ball holds greens or checks like this, even long irons stop quickly on fast greens. The check on greenside chips is phenomenal. Fantastic feel off the putter. Also quite durable for a ball that spins as good as this. The only problem with these used to be the price, but now the old stock are going cheap I use this as my regular ball. For any player with good clubhead speed buy this ball, you won't find better.

HX red and black (similar but not as soft), ProV1/X (not quite as good and too expensive), UTRI tour (Great ball also but ball flight not quite as high), Srixon AD333 (Very similar off the club but not quite as responsive around the greens), Stratas (Good but shred too easily)

This ball is incredible. I have a very low trajectory and I usually roll through the greens. I have played evreything from Pro V1's to Top Flites and none of them have the control in the wind or the stopping ability of the HX Blue. They stop on a dime. Like I hit a 3iron 215 yards, low and in the wind, and the ball just hit the green and rolled just 12 inches. Amazing ball, amazing feel and the best in the business for the short game. My one disclaimer is the durability of the ball. I played one round with one ball and it is pretty roughed up. Then again all the spinning that it does I have no problem with that. Best ball for those seeking a better short game and more control with your irons. Give this ball a try it is all the hype.

HX blue is definately a short game improvement ball. You can make the ball stop on a dime or bump and run if needed. I also have been holding greens I normally dont because of the balls exceptional spin. Ball flies strait off the tee but does lack a little distance. Great feel on long and short shots.

So far I have had great results with this ball. Good distance with great spin. I have not encountered the durability issues mentioned by others and I have a swing speed of 95 mph with my 6 iron. I do play courses with soft fairways and soft greens so that may be part of the explanation. If you are in need of control with your short game, give these balls a try.

To start I'm an equipment junkie. I've tried most of the new balls out to date and it come's down to Pro v1(new), Precept Laddie, and Callaway blue 3piece. As the old saying goes you get what you pay for. Best dollar for dollar ball is the Precept Laddie, very soft and long off tee, similair traits as the high dollar balls but the price is the major difference. Pro v1 enough said, Callaway Blue I was skeptical at first with the price tag but I was born to take chances. This ball is like velcro on approach shots and chipping on the green I've never had a ball to check up like the Callaway ball. It's also longer off the tee than the Pro v1, for the low ninety's or lower player give this ball a try.

Customer Service

Great service as always.

Bottom line: Good ball, too expensive, not durable, red > blue. Much like the Pro V1/Pro V1x, even long hitters will probably like the CTU or HX Red more than the Blue. The Red has a much truer feel and plenty of spin. Both, however, are not very durable at all.

My score leans heavily on the short game and I find the HX Blue has a wonderful feel. It is long off the driver (I get more distance than with the HX Red ) Stops nicely on the green. I would recommend giving it a try.

I think this is a good ball. It's a little shorter than the red, but not by much. You all know the deal with the pattern and wind and what, and the great touch around the greens, but what gets me about this ball is how true it rolls on the greens. It's as if it will roll an extra 2 feet after it should stop. If distance isn't a problem try this. You can find them for 35 a dozn, but that's still a little expensive for something you can lose in the woods.
