Some loss of distance, but wow--the feel and workability of these balls make a mid-handicapper like me feel like a pro. Iron/wedge spin, accurate chipping, and true rolls of the putter make this ball worth it! I bought at close-out for $11 per dozen! Not bad for a $50+ ball. Play wound balls while you still have the chance--distance isn''t everything. Scoring is!

You figure that you can trust a review from a "70's" or "scratch" player.

Well, one man's poison is another man's tea.

Even after reading the negative reviews on this site, I purchased 5 dozen Maxfli Elites at the golfsmith, (closeout at $20 per doz). I figured that they were cheap enough for a tour grade ball. Even if the Elite was not popular on this website or on Tour, I was sure that I would like it better than any two peice balls that are usually in this price range.

That gamble paid off big time for me!

I am happy to tell you that I was amazed with the performance of the Elite. I like the Titleist Pro V 1 (I think that it's the best ball on the market when you can find it!!) and Professional, but the Elite compares well with them. You can stop it on a dime and it putts like a dream. It feels solid with your irons and woods. And, I had no noticable loss in distance. All this at more than a 60%lower price than my favorite Titleist.

I once reported that the strata's tour pro was THE best value (9 pack @ $15/doz) for a performance ball in the market place. Well at the same price per sleeve, believe me, the Elite is the way to go.

This ball WILL help you with you short game. You WILL HOLD GREENS. That is it's strong suit. If your interested in shaving strokes, try it. IF YOU LIKE THE REVOLUTION, YOU WILL LOVE THIS BALL. And at the closeout price of $20 per dozen, buy all you can get. Or don't! That will leave more Elites for me.

Contrary to some of the other reviews, I'm in the 20+ handicap range and LOVE this ball. I bought 2 doz for the price of one and only have 6 of them left, but this is by far the best ball I've ever played. There is no distance loss off the driver or long irons, and the short iron shots will stop on a dime. These are a little expensive to lose, like I have done, but I will continue to buy them as long as I can find them. They make me feel like a better golfer, whether it's true or not.

I used this ball one round and saw a minimal loss of distance of the irons and no loss on the woods. Putting and chipping with this ball is great. They are a little too soft to provide good feedback but they are so soft they always seemed to be stopping near the hole. I think the reason they seem a little short on the irons is because they stop right where they hit the ground. I like this because I can fire at the flagsticks without having to worry about the ball rolling off of the green. I got them two for one at liquidgolf.com so they were only about 18 dollars per dozen. A great ball at that price.

I now know why Maxfli are withdrawing this ball!! Since it's launch I have heard vaying reports and thus steered clear, however I was given 2 recently, so I played last night 80degrees + and to say I was dissapointed is a bit of an understatement!!
It was akin to hitting a tomato compared to usual ball I play, Revo or Pro V1 or Proffesional, and it was at least 20 yds short on drives!!! Round the greens is where it scored, however with the new balls available now Maxfli have done right to put this one out of its misery!!!! A thorough dissapointment!!!

I found this ball on the golf course last week.It looked brand new with no scuff marks. So I decided to play with it yesterday. It has a very high trajectory when struck. The distance was shorter than other balls I have hit.It was soft on the club face and on my putter. It had a wonderful feel on the greens. The spin was good so you should be able to hold the greens with no problems. The ball still looked good after I finished playing. So durablity with this ball is very good.Since I did not buy this ball I do not know the price. However,I feel it will run near the top golf balls price wise.Distance may be shorter, but you will love to chip and putt with this ball.

Very disappointing ball, especially for the price. Doesn't compare to the Revolution. Feel is not as soft and control is not as good. Way too expensive.

The Elite feels great when putting, nice control around greens and didn't seem to lose any distance with irons and minimal with woods. I really like this ball. Makes me think I will play well. Got them as free trial,so unsure as to cost, I would imagine that they will be priced similar to the top line tour balls.

no you dont have to be a scratch player to play these balls. My iron play has gotten better with this ball. The Rev is great but this is so sweet off the irons and putter. I am hitting more greens! I love the Elite.off the driver it is descent. I really dont see much difference in terms of distance compared to the rocks.
