Ever switch balls to get your round going? I do too often. Today, I found a Nike Power Distance Soft (while looking for my Callaway HX Hot). Switched to the Nike, being aware of the Consumer Reports accolades, with both curiosity and trepidation. This is a $15 a dzn. ball. How good can it be?
I'll provide little in the way of detail, just that I love this ball. My round did take off after the ball switch, and in all aspects the Nike Power Distance Soft thrived.
I am converted, and I tend to pass on Nike products in general (though I like the Mojo).

This ball is probably the softest I have played for 2 complete rounds. I still cant get used to the feeling as its so soft there is lack of feel with my irons and wedges. All my irons and wedges are forged so any ball hit in the sweetpot is pretty much like butter.
Distance with the driver 105-110 swingspeed is average but feels good.
Iron distance is up to 10 yards more carry in long to mid iron. Short iron is average. Feel is super soft with forged irons, its hard to judge distance with pitching and chipping. You really have to get used to this ball to get full benefit.
Its hard to bend the ball left or right it mostly wants to go straight. Straight left or straight right... unless you want to put a slightly more inside out swing.
I think a slower swingspeed player can benefit with this ball.
Feel off the putter is excellent.

I saw the Consumer Reports rating this ball #2 just behind the Nike One Black and ahead of the Pro V's; my curiosity swelled.
The distance claim is true. I was out there in places not been before, on my home course so I know where my ball usually lands. OH so soft, like butter, but it compresses and comes off the clubhead, very accurately, not alot of drift. The ball flight is a little more boring (lower trajectory slightly) than with the Pro V with my swing.
Like with every piece of equipment, it's the Indian, not the arrow. But when the Indian was on, the short irons were straight, once again, no drift, and they STICK.
Chipping is soft but the ball carries a little further. For me it is fine because I usually come up short on my chips.
Putting was smooth, on line, very good feel with my Odyssey 2 Ball putter.
I'm sure I'm not a good enough golfer to feel the difference in the higher end balls, but after hitting this one, there is no need for me to ever spend $$$$ for the Pro V when this is less than $$ and performs better.

I bought these because consumer reports rated them very high and I read a couple other good reviews. I didn't really trust any of that, and don't like nike balls due to the logo(i like a straight line logo). These balls really exceeded my expectations. Very long, decently soft, and extremely durable. They feel great off the putter, and found that i hit them longer with my irons than my usual cheap, more distance oriented balls. I didn't get a whole lot of spin off short irons, but I prefer that anyhow.
Overall the best value I have found in the low priced golf ball market. I plan on stocking up for fear of Nike discontinuing them, changing the name or raising the price.

The local golf emporium had these on sale for $10 / dozen, so I bought some a few days ago.
Played 'em today. Pretty interesting ball. The name fits perfectly. They are probably the longest distance ball I've played, and they feel VERY soft. So soft some people will probably dislike them as seeming mushy.
Lots of carry and lots of roll. Definitely not the type of ball you can stop on a dime, but you can control distance fairly well once you realize that and gauge the roll.
I like 'em. They are noticably longer and softer than the Noodle, which would be aimed at the same market segment. I was consistently one club closer on my second shot after driving with this ball as compared to ProV1s. Certainly a bargain at $10, or even $15.
[My driver speed averages 91 mph. You 100+ mph guys might not like these balls.]

Bought these balls at Golf Galaxy last week. $15.99 per dz. Buy 2, get one free. Great Deal. Played them this Tues and Thurs for the first time. This ball is really soft. It seems to just shoot off of the clubface when chipping. I had to change how much power I applied when chipping or I could find myself well past the pin very easily. When it comes to the driver and irons it's a different story. Very, very soft off of the clubface but lacks distance. I'm at least 20 yards shorter with this ball versus the Maxfli Noodle. This applied more to the driver than the irons. I was only about a club short on the irons but noticeable shorter with the driver. All in all a great feeling ball if you're not concerned about distance but I'm taking mine out of the bag today and putting the noodles back in. The noodle is a little harder feeling but has the distance I desire.

This a good ball that has a lovely soft feel and quite a decent amount of spin. When you smoke it or even on mis hits with a driver, iron or wedge it feels nice and soft but still goes fairly straight for the wayward golfer like myself compared with a really high spin ball like the prov1. It still has plenty of stopping power on the green though and has a nice feel of the putter face. Unlike other people I find this is a very durable ball and doesn't scuff up easily. Overall I would recommend this ball to anyone seeking a fairly cheap ball that offers good feel and decent spin. It is great value because it is cheap and offers good performance for the price.

I played the Nike Super Soft, I don't think it's the power distance super soft, but this is the only thing close. First off, the ball lacks distance with the big dog driver. I average 290-325 easily with a driver. I am lucky to get 275 with this ball. The irons are very inconsistent too. My 9 iron ranged from 140-160yds. It was never the same. It was soft on the green though. Not much spin, but it didn't keep rolling or bounce high once it hit. I play in az where the ground is as hard as it gets. The cover is durable. Doesn't scuff easily. I just didn't like the inconsistency with distance.

Belive it or not I collect Nike golf balls and test them weekly. I think if you enjoy the current technology of the golf ball, or you like this ball, than buy an extra box from K-mart or whatever and save it, because these balls have been on the market for a while and I am pretty sure they will soon retire. You will beable to purchase them easily from a store a year from when they retire, but after that it will become difficult. I am personaly struggling to get all of the retired balls together to test at once. These super soft balls definatly defend there name, they are certainly soft. They putt nice, go far , and thud off the face of the club instead of click which gives them better feel which is one thing I test for. Most swings speeds should fit this ball exept for very slow ones. If you have a slow swing speed, than don't buy a soft ball. Overall, buy this ball! Its cheap! It works! It does the job!
