Overall pretty good ball, I thought it was identical to the Pro V-1 around the greens. The ball checks up like it has velcro on it. Off the tee this ball for me is at least 10 to 15 yards shorter than the Pro V or the Callaway Black ball. In the fairway this ball again for me is approx 5 to 10 yards shorter. Not a bad ball at all for the money, but spend the extra 12 dollars for the standard.

Similar in characteristics to the Pro V1, but not as long. I typically needed one more club playing this, compared to the Pro V1.

This is a great ball. Distance is up there, and i actually spun this ball off a green the first time ever. Voracious spin. The cover seems to hold up well also.

I've been the Strata Ultimate 2 and the new Strata Ultimate+, but decided to try this ball. It is significantly shorter than the Stratas. This is based on side by side hitting at my home course. My average drives with the Stratas are about 260, but the Precepts seem to windup around 240-245. Ball flight is similar to the Stratas, but the hang time isn't the same. It's a puzzle to me. In terms of short iron performance, it's much better in terms of spin and stopping. Putting feel is comparable to the Stratas. Although I like the ball, I'm giving up too much distance on drives. I'll be trying the Wilson True Tour Vs next.

Everything about this ball says control. It has it all in the areas of distance, spin and feel and stacks up well against any other "spin" ball out there. There are certain golf balls I always play well with and this is one of them. It has a certain predictability to it all around but especially from 100 yards in where the real scoring is. I have played both Pro V1 versions and can't say the same about them not that they are bad golf balls. The TPLS gives me excellent distance off the tee and precise yardages with everything else wit no surprises. Around and on the greens it shines and makes pitching, chipping, bunker shots and putting seemingly so much easier for that feeling of control I mentioned above. Although I have not played or putted either of the Wilson True balls putts are dropping with surprising regularity on greens of different speeds. From the first round with this ball I knew this one was for me and my game and it is now my regular ball.

great ball!! have played a variety of ball, cheaper to the more expensive, played this ball for the first time this weekend, distance is great was hitting my 3 wood places i normally hit my driver, great feel, good sitdown ability on the greens, but not to much spin, a ball that spins 10 yards back off the green doesnt impress me that much. this ball also putts very true, absolutely the best all around ball, i have every played.

Been playing Callaway Rule 35 for a couple of years, which is a great ball, however the durability of the Precept is better. This ball drops and stops, which is great - no spinning back 15 or so feet, like the Wilson True Tour (another very good golf ball). Definitely long enough for its category. Great feel.

Nice ball. It is definitely firmer than the Tour Premium - it does not spin as much around the green, but is also goes farther (the Tour Premium is fun - I can spin the wedges and short irons back 10 feet or more, just like the guys on TV, but I don't really need that.) Durability is very good. I have square grooves that chew up balls and these held up as well as any ball I've ever played. I think the spin and distance are very close to a ProV1 at a much better price and with MUCH better durability. I think I'll stick with this ball. It spins enough that I can stop an iron or put some check on a chip, and it goes far. The durability is the best I've found. And at $32 the price blows the other premium mutli-layer balls away.

The best "new" multilayer ball out there. I have played the Tour Premium for the past 3 years , and this ball is light years ahead of the previous model. Great control from mid to short irons, both distance and workablity. The firmer cover feels great on the green, putts role as true as can be. The distance off the driver and fairway woods was much longer than the Titleist Pro V1 (about 10 yards). Someone whom has exessive spin off of short irons and wedges should try these. If you try these, you will switch!!!
