All the reviews here on this ball are pretty dead on accurate. In fact I purchased this ball based on these reviews. After having been disappointed by durability issues with the Callaway Tour 56 ball, I decided to try something a little more scuff resistant. The ball overall has a soft touch on the putting green. It doesn't spin too much off the driver either. Distancewise, it is comparable to most of the other 3 piece balls. I would say that this ball is not as good as the Titleists Pro1/x, particularly when it comes to spin off the greens, but it does spin enough. There was only a slight scuff mark after my 15th hole. At 29 bucks a box, I think this is one of the few balls out there with premium-like performance at a reasonable price. Other balls like the Noodle don't have much feel in the short game area, but are priced right. The Titleists have the best performance of all the premium balls , but cost 45 bucks a box. I think this is perfect blend of budget and performance. Highly recommended.

I read the sparkling reviews of this ball on this site and decided to go out and buy a box. These are relatively cheap ($23 for a dozen at Academy), and let me tell you, worth every penny. I've never played a ball that performs this well. Though it does not have the feel of a Pro V1, it is just as good (if not, better) in every other aspect. My drives are longer, iron shots sweeter, and putts truer. As for the amount of spin: it is perfect (for me, at least). I get a drop-and-stop with everything from 7-iron on down. And these balls are durable- I'm still on the first ball after FORTY holes of using it (including an eagle on a 560-yard par five today). I highly recommend the Precept U-Tri Tour!

I play the U-Tri Tour now for 1 1/2 years. There are a lot of new balls out there so I want to give them a chance. I tried the Bridgestone B330 great ball, very long but on the green like a stone, Wilson TX4 great feeling around and on the green but he goes to high and so I loose distance, Nike OneBlack good against wind, to hard on the green, OnePlatinum good ball overall goes also very high but not the feeling from the U-Tri Tour, HX Tour very good ball against the wind but also to hard. At the end the U-Tri Tour is still the best ball for me. Good distance, excellent feeling, and costs less than all other premium balls. He will stay on my way to the holes. Thanks Precept

to the below poster Francis Totaro, your sexual preference has nothing to do with a review of a golf ball. Leave political, moral, social, etc issues out of a golf review forum. Just explain likes and dislikes of products! That being said, the U-Tri ball is an excellent alternative to the much more expensive Pro V1's. The V1's are better ball but not a better value for what you get. I'm glad I discovered the U-Tri.

I've played the ProV1 & V1x for a year and I was told to play these by a pro friend of mine. Gave them a whirl on my home course today . . . Yatzee!!! About 5-10 yards longer than the V1x, and doesn't spin as hard as the V1. You could say that it's the perfect blend of the ProV balls. Great feel around the greens and putts true. I'm a believer and am off to Golfsmith to buy a couple dozen. The kicker is that they're affordable. A+

Great ball! Normally play the ProV1 and I see almost no difference between the V1 and the Tour ball...except that the tour ball is at least $5 cheaper/doz. Distance is the same but around the green the V1 is a little better (e.g. feel, spin). But remember the U-Tri Tour is used by Appleby and Nick Price...both are better than me and they use it to make a living.

great ball. It has it all and it doesn't have the 45$ price like the PRO v1's. spins well, distance is great, and it has a very soft feel.

This ball has it all! It compares to all the premium balls out there at a lower price. Driver distance is very good. I get a drop and stop with my irons. Putting has a very good feel to it and the ball is very durable. I have found the ball I'm looking for! You can't go wrong with the price either. Try a sleeve and you'll see.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the reviews, as my game started to slide due to our new 18 holes; the course is longer, tougher and faster, including the greens, I came back to this ball after reviewing the additional comments. The only reason why I left was to save a few bucks, but it is not worth it. I played the NXT Tour and Revolution EXT and they don't do what this ball does. This ball is sweet and worth the extra $5 or so as all aspects of your game on any type of course will be a benefit to you when you use this ball. Taking a lesson just adds to what this ball can do and will do. I am sticking with this ball from now on.

I'm a high school golfer who averages low to mid 80s (high 70s on a real good day, can be above 90 on an awful day). I have a fairly average swing speed (mid-high 90s, 160 yard 7 iron) The things I want in a golf ball are competetive distance, driver spin characteristics that won't exaggerate my sometimes horrific swings w/ driver (my biggest weakness), and most importantly enough spin to stop quickly on both iron and wedge shots. For a much cheaper price (my local golf shop is now selling them for $20 a dozen!) the U-Tri delivers just as much distance as any other premium multi-layer ball, holds in the wind as well as any ball except callaway, and, in the opinion of me and my teammates, actually spins more than the Pro V1 (have spun the ball back much more since switching to the precept--not always a good thing as I have sucked back to the fringe more than once). Performance just as good as titleist or any other tour-level ball--half the price.
