STRATA Tour Straight Balls

DESCRIPTION

The STRATA TOUR STRAIGHT is the first-of-its kind, multi-layered golf ball coated with a slick Teflon® surface. This ball is designed to reduce the side-spin that average golfers create at impact.

I picked up 4 sleeves of these at a conference I attended in San Diego, and I sure am glad I did. I have quite possibly the biggest slice off my driver that any of you folks have ever seen. Im talking, on occasion, the ball can travel more to the right than it does forward. Even though my drives arent super straight, this ball helped improve my drives and keep them on the fairway. The secret is this coating. Teflon or Slickote or whatever they call it. The ball feels a little oily when it comes out of the box. I guess it just reduces the friction between the ball and the club, making the ball spin less than it should have. The only bad thing about this coating is that it wears off. After half a round its almost gone. Overall, I loved this ball. All my shots except my driver are straight, and short iron chipping is a breeze. The ball checks up very nicely. I didnt experience an improvement in putting, however the ball has good feel, but I still prefer my Callaway Rule 35's in that department. SO, all in all, THE BALL IS WORTH IT.

Bought a sleeve because the box looked cool, then I saw the "line-up" arrow on the ball. I was impressed. Then I hit the thing. After the first shot, I was dumbfounded. My drive was 15yds further than the Titleist NXT Tour I hit the previous hole. What about off the irons? They are just as long, helping me to come in from 127yds with a PW instead of a 9-iron. Do they spin? I could stop the ball within 2ft on the green with an 8-iron. With a 4-iron, I hit the green and stopped the ball within 8ft. I will DEFINITELY be buying more of those balls, they are amazing.

Used this ball for the first time on Saturday. Distance was good (but not excellent), feel of the ball on the clubs was nice, and the ball checked up on the greens quite nicely (approx. 6 feet from impact to stopping) with a 9-iron from 150 yds. I did not notice any big difference from this ball on the "straight" aspect. My fade from my 9 degree driver is still there. While the distance the ball moves from left to right hasn't got any worse with this ball, it also has not improved it either. Overall I was looking for a ball that had good distance that didn't feel like a rock and had good checking on the greens with the shorter irons and wedges. I don't hit enough greens with my long irons yet to have to worry to much about those sticking to the greens. Also, price and availability were a huge factor; I don't appreciate paying the premium for the Callaway and ProV1 balls. This ball fit the bill in all categories, and being a strata, was excellent to putt.

I've been using this ball since last summer and I'm hooked! My distance and accuracy have improved dramatically. Although my ball flight tends to be a very "controllable" fade, I am able to mix in a straight ball as well. The ball doesn't feel like a "brick" off the club face and I have very nice control around the greens. I also love the "arrow" on the ball -- it helps me line up putts. I just hope that the Callaway / Top Flite merger doesn't affect this particular product.

I was using Precept Laddie's for about a year, when a friend gave me a sleeve of Strata Tour Straight balls. I instantly fell in love with these. Long off the tee, and nice feel on and around the greens. An they seem to live up to the advertising hoopla about the Teflon coating reducing spin. I've only played 3 years, and still have a lot of strange things happening to my swing. But, I do hit this ball straighter and longer than any other I've tried.

Very nice ball. Very straight, pretty easy to control for fade and draw shot shaping. When the green is hard, forget about backspin, use pitch & run better. This ball didn't stop in a dime...but rolls a little too much for my liking. But overall is a very good ball. Way over decent.

I normally slice the ball and have a slow head speed (85 mph). I have played the XL 3000 Super Feel and the Maxfli Noodle and liked both of them. Both helped with distance and I felt the compression on both. The Tour Straight was a little shorter (which makes sense because if it reduces sidespin it also would probably reduce backspin) but reduced my slice to minimal if I sliced at all. I still felt the same compression as the Feel and Noodle. Most of my shots were on the fairway (80%) and I hit maybe 8 GIR. I used this ball my first time out this season and was in position to par most holes. If my short game was better I would have definitely had my lowest score ever (probably low 90s). I do think the Tour Straight is a great ball. And I would recommend it. If keeping it on the fairway is important to you, and losing a couple of yards doesn't bother you, this is the ball for you.

This ball has change my game. I had broken 80 only one time previous to using this ball and in 2002 I shot 78 twice, 79 once and 77 once! I used taylor made 360 until late in the year and then the R510. I attribute some of the amazing increase in distance to the 510 but i canhonelstly say that the ball alone before the new driver added 15- 20 yards to the tee shot on a nice smooth swing. driver-wedge.!

This ball plays decent;-it flies farther off the tee, but it's hard to control at shorter distances (-100). It is very durable and the arrow helps with lining up your putts.
