a game improvement ball that did not help my game...
it has a very hard feel and does not fly as far as i would have expected...
if you are looking for a game improvement ball try the pinnacle gold ls and save a bunch of $$$.

Do not waste your money on these "rocks"!!! I get no spin whatsoever, no distance even with a Titleist 975d, or 990 irons. Not even very accurate for me, one good thing it putts pretty good. Get a balata.

This ball does not deliver on either of the promises made by Titleist: it is neither "distance ball" long, nor is it "spin ball" workable/stoppable. Played side-by-side with a Wilson Staff SmartCore Straight-Distance(a less expensive ball making the same promises), the HP Eclipse was outclassed.

New trick ball from Titleist. Performs like a low-spin distance ball off woods and irons; performs more like a two-piece spin ball around the green. The trade-off: impossible to hold greens on mid to long iron shots. Do you need a 4 iron to an island green? This golf ball would be hopeless in a situation like that.

Bought a sleeve of these out of curiosity to see how Titleist's new ball would perform, and was very disappointed. The Eclipse is moderately long, pretty straight, but has no spin whatsoever. The titanium distance balls have about the same amount of shot-stopping control as these rocks. They have little feel around the green, and putting is more of a guessing game than an artform. Distance control is terrible, as you have to land this ball way short of the hole to get it close. This is the first ball Titleist has made that doesn't really have a purpose, I wonder why they even bothered. They already have the DT Distance for length, and this ball is shorter than it with the same amount of spin. This is the first Titleist ball that I have truly been let down by. You might as well go buy a box of Top Flite XL X-outs and save yourself 25.00.

Peforms as advertised. Long off the tee with noticeably less sidespin. The wedge spin is a little less apparent.

After reading the reviews below, I was rxpecting this ball to be a real let down. Instead, I found out that it does exactly what Titleist says it will: straight, consistent, spins just right off of anything shorter than a 6 iron, putts extremely true (although it's a bit lively), and is very easy to scramble with. And that's on a course that was frozen solid... must be a lot of Titleist bashers posting here. Don't believe them; try the ball.

I was very disappointed in the performance of this ball compared to other Titleist balls. I prefer the HP2 Tour or Tour Distance hands down. Even the DT is a better ball.

I hit a consistent fade/slice with my woods. This ball straightened them out! After hitting some distance balls (rocks) this ball felt much softer. I hit the ball high so I didn't have the problems getting it to stop like others have....all in all a good ball for my game.

The better question would be what other similiar balls have I NOT tried? =)
