Starting playing this ball two years ago. Was in Myrtle Beach in late February and still a little cool outside. After vowing to NEVER play a Top-Flite ball, I fell in love with the XL-2000 Super Titanium. The ball felt a little clunky in the colder weather. Long story short, I played the NXT Distance and immediately gained more 'feel' from the softer ball. As my game has progressed, I have continually tried to change balls, especially the Pro-V1. I ALWAYS come back to the NXT. It is very responsive and straight. While I agree, you won't get the 'bite' on the greens as you would a high-spin ball, this ball performs great. I play high iron shots that generate alot of spin, so while they may not suck back on hard, hard greens, they certainly don't roll off either. The box says this ball is a 68 compression. That's 'soft' in my book.I would rather sacrafice a little bit of spin for the distance, feel and dependability of the tee. With all that babbling, I would say that this ball is every bit as good as the Pro-V1 for any low handicapper. Scratch golfers can get the extra benefits from the Pro-V1, but anybody over a 7+handicap can confidently play this ball. Good luck and keep hittin' 'em straight!!

Well I am the Dan referred to in the previous review. I did write WStan about his review of the Titleist NXT Distance ball. Ironically, it was the math that intrigued me about his initial review. He said that this ball added 12 minutes to his round, as he kept hitting it left or right, and had to look for it. I think we all know that a ball can't add time to your round. It's the person hitting it. Even if the ball could, it would not be a low spin distance ball, which the NXT distance is. He complains about this ball slicing "200 yards to the right." Does the ball make 200 yards difference, of course not. The purpose of my message was that his math does not add up, and his low rating had significant effect on the overall rating of the ball. Case in point: the ball has been rated 12 times, with an overall rating of 3.83. WStan rated it twice at 2.0. His ratings are well below average for the ball. Neither his rating or his story add up.

i dont know what wstan was saying but he sure played the he77 out of that ball. and putting is where most of my balls either stay in my bag or are used fer the toilet shots. the short game is where i feel these balls really work from 100 yards out these balls stop dead no forward release and no spinning back off the green they just sit there. as for putting they roll instantly like a strata not the skip a bit of the topflites. im not a good golfer but these balls help a lot. play a ball from 10 years ago (freakin rocks were better)

I love this ball. I've generally been playing TopFlite XL2000's for the past few years out of mainly economic concerns. In the last year or so though, as i've begun to shoot consistently in the low eighties and sometimes upper seventies i've been experimenting with various balls to see if they make any difference. I like the XL2000's but have always disliked the hardness and lack of feel with them. Tried Maxfli noodles and Precept ladies on friends recomendations but found them neither softer nor farther. Even tried a couple of V1's a found on a course but noticed nothing special about them. The NXT Distance balls felt immediately different. Instant feedback and softness on iron shots. No more clank as with the XL2000's. Just a great 'feel' ball. Holds greens well and is a joy to putt with too. Off the tee I don't notice any extra distance as compared to other balls but still feel the difference. Doesn't encourage slicing or side spin as other review said. If anything I think I hit this ball straighter. I don't like spending 2 bucks plus per ball but this is the first ball i've played that i feel warrants it. Great ball. And they are very durable too.

This ball is great. Its hot of the tee has a soft feel to it and with some skill is easy to use around the greens. It puts true and NEVER scuffs. I played three rounds and one time I hit one thin over the back of the green and onto a cart path and it still looks brand new. It has a relatively flat trajectory hence the long distance but you might get robbed of distance in wet conditions because it cant run as much.

This is one of the most disappointing balls I've ever played with, as I found it lacking in every category except durability. I found one in perfect shape and played about five holes with it before tossing it back in my bag, where it currently resides deep in a pocket until I clean out cruddy balls for the shag bag. What's wrong with it? First, it was not straight for me - I was at least 50% further right or left of where I normally am off the tee and added at least 12 minutes to my round with all the time spent trying to find the damn thing in the deep rough or woods. I had one drive in the fairway, but that brings up it's second fault: it's name is a misnomer. My fairway drive felt great - I hit it right on the screws and it had a nice trajectory as well. However, it only went 240 yards, whereas a similar drive with a Pinnacle Gold or Topflight XL 2000 would have been out there 270 to 290. I found I was coming up five to ten yards short of the green on all my iron shots, and had to overclub by one club compared to my normal balls. Chipping and putting were unmemorable, but I tend to notice much less difference between balls in the short game compared to the longer shots. Can't really say how it stuck to greens, as I ended up chipping or pitching all of my shots on the green because none of them were long enough to hit the putting surface. Feel is more or less unnoticeable. I believe that this ball is intended to replace the DT Distance. It does not come close, as the DTD is an excellent ball and the NXTD is, to be charitable, a mediocre one. The DT Distance is longer, straighter and has better feel. The ball I've played with that is most comparable to this one is an Intech Titanium that I found on the course and wacked around for a few holes - both were short, crooked and had no particularly discernable feel to them. For a mid-priced ball to feel and play the same as an ultra-low budget ball is simply weak. Buy Pinnacle Golds, TopFlight XL2000 or 3000's, Maxfli Noodles, Precept MC Ladies or Laddies instead of this one and save $2-8 per box - it is a very poor value.

Supposedly comparable to or better than the DT Distance, but isn't even close. Even if the box has been sitting on the shelf for a few years, the DT Distance is a much better ball

Great ball for the money!!! Explosive off the tee, yet soft enough to work around the green. I hit a 5 wood on a 200yd par 3. The initial impact of an NXT Distance hit the middle of the green. I was thinking it was too much club as that ball was going in hot. Much to my and my partners suprise, the ball stopped 5' from where it first landed, or about 12' from the pin. What a fun shot. I couldn't believe my it didn't go another 30yds past the green. A good golfer would have birdied that hole, but I can't putt most of the time, so I saved a par! Who ever says these NXTs are rocks must be playing golf with squash balls. These NXTs are really soft when compaired to any Pinnacle, Top Flite, or even Titlest DT or HP series balls.
