I found this to be a tough ball to hit. Good swings were rewarded, but the poorer swings were over penalized. For $30 a dozen there are much better balls out there for the mid to high handicappers. Oh Baby, Oh Baby, Oh Baby. If you want to buy a great all round golf ball this is the one for you. Give excellent distance off the tee, goes as straight as you could ask and has a good feel on the green, now if they could only cost a little less. But well worth the price. smartcore distance
I have played the Staff Straight Distance and the Titleist HP for the last 2 years. I recently switched to the Smartcore and I love it. I get a little more distance out of this ball (5 - 10%) , but it excels with its feel around the green. This ball is also great from 100 yards in. All of the other distance balls I have used never have the feel like the Smartcore. I find it a lot easier to keep the ball in the fairway and I am hitting it longer. By a sleeve of these and give them a try. You will see a big difference from all of the other distance balls. If you're looking for a ball that flies straight and long then I would recommend trying this one. This ball helps reduce my tendancy to fade the ball. It also claims to produce great feel around the greens which is my greatest weakness. I have not experienced that however. The feel around the greens is very average.
