I know this ball was hard enough to find when it was in production the first time. It was a good ball when it came out, and well worth the $25 a dozen price tag. It became a great ball when they increased both the spin and durability on the next iteration--but then it became even harder to find. Walmart was about the only place to get it. Now that it's been discontinued it's darned near impossible to find.

This improved version has great spin on the greens, a shade better distance than the original (just a tad shorter than Pro V1's and Bridgestones), and putts like a dream. Now that even Walmart is blowing it out of the inventory it's worth digging up if you can. I've been spotting it at $9-11 a dozen. With its respectable distance, excellent soft feel for chipping, and buttery smooth putting--this ball is an absolute steal!

Customer Service

Wilson does have a good web site that also features a good fitting process.

In my quest to find the perfect golf ball for me, i tried trhe Px3 this week. I liked the ball more than I thought I would especially after comparing it to higher rated balls such as the Bridgestone B330S, E5 and a few others. Also in using an online golf ball selector the # 1 ball selected for me many times was the Wilson Tx4, which I didn't like one bit.

First let me tell you what I like in a ball. I like a ball that there is know question when I have compressed the ball and hit a good shot. One that has a lot of feel. I like a ball with moderate spin, that will at least one hop and stop on all full iron shots and chips. And... of course I like a ball that maximizes my distance. Average distance for me with 7 iron is 150 and average drive is 235 (fight a slice so I do not take a full swing just so I can keep it in the fairway).

This ball fit my critera very well.
Feel - I am not sure of the compression rating but on all shots I could feel the ball compress and stick the club face and then take off. It wasn't the softest performance ball I have played with, but I would say a 7.5/8 out of 10 in terms of softness.

Spin - Spin was good. With most full iron shots the ball would spin back about a foot or almost just stop dead in the divot. Even on mis hits it my hop forward maybe a foot but that is about it.

Distance - I couldn't really tell if I gained much on distance with the driver, but with my irons I seems to be 5 to 10 yards longer on well struck shots.

So far the Srixon Z-URS is still the best ball I have ever played, even in comparion to the Pro V1's, Nike Black / Platinum and other highly rated balls.

The Wilson Px3 you can find at a reasonably low price now though and so on days I can't shovel out for the Srixon's I may be playing this ball.

I played titleist prov 1's for the last year. Just switched to the pX3. Ball travels much further off the tee. Feels good around the green and haven't lost any touch putting. Only complaint is that i can't spin this ball as much but i don't need to. I'm 3 handicap and this ball i think is a great ball! For 23 bucks a ball you can't beat it.

An excellent mid-priced 3-piece performance ball. This is the BEST ball in this category in my opinion. I have played the NXT-tour, the e6, and the Nike Ignite. The ball is as long and as straight as any of the other balls above mentioned, but spins more and feels much nicer off the putter.

It's also priced below the nxt-tour. The only complaint I have with it is that it is hard to find in golf shops and stores - unfortunate for such a good ball.

In conclusion, it's my new game ball until I can get down into the 70s.

Not a bad ball for the money. Distance is slightly above average, but control on approach shots is great. The major complaint I have is durability. Ball seems to scuff very easily. I think the NXT Tour is worth the extra $2.

The ball looks different than others with the flatter dimples. Distance seems reasonable, but not great, control was good with irons, half wedge shots spun nicely as well. I could lag putts fairly close. For $25 a dozen a good buy. Since not many people use these, you'll never have anyone accidentally playing your ball. Overall it's above average and deserves a look.

Just returned to golf after a 3 year hiatus, and decided to move away from a pure distance ball and move towards something with more control and feel. Enter the Wilson Px3....After playing a few rounds with this ball, all I can say is WOW! Off the driver, this ball flies well and gives great feel when hit on the sweet spot. I don't find the trajectory to be overly high or low. Iron play is very nice. I always feel like the shot is going to fly exactly how I want it everytime I address the ball. (although my swing doesn't always come through). Around the green and putting, I have found that being agressive is often rewarded with chip shots ending near the hole and long putts falling. The ball is very lively and rolls true for me. If you find these for <=$25 I would pick them up.

I have been wanting to try this ball for a while. Well i also found one of these on a course in an open competition. Boy i wish i used it in that! I am not one to notice much difference between golf balls but obviously this made a difference to my game. The next day i gave it a go and i shot my best game of golf ever. Well i only played 13 holes, but i shot 43 when i would normally shoot 50. I was making so many greens in regulation, and it just held the green. It felt great off the face of a putter aswell and managed to putt for 2 birdies. I didn't notice much difference in distance. This ball is the best value ball and is well worth the money. I'm off to buy a few boxes. (This ball is hard to clean)

I found one of these on my home course today and played the rest of my round with it. This is the best ball I have ever used. It is longer than the pro v1 and spins just as good. I will be using these in the next tournament. I checked on the price and they are almost half the cost of the pro v1. Wilson got it right with this one.
