    Summary:
I like to give credit where credit is due but I find it hard to do that with this course. It is nice to have a course sitting right in the middle of the State College. There is a lot of activity that goes on around the course. Some sports fields and many joggers. Seeing the occasional college lady come jogging by is a nice addition to the course. I do remember the pro shop being the nicest I have ever been in, but the course was average at best. At this time none of the holes hit me as special, but the layout was not bad.

I did play the Blue Course, which is the better of the two. Stay away from the White as it is garbage.

    The staff is great though.

    Customer Service:
Great guys, mostly college guys who are schooling to work at golf courses at some point so their best foot is always going forward.

    Summary:
It is an okay course. They have FINALLY put sand in the bunkers on the white course. The blue course is much better and costs more also. There are many, many bunkers and several holes with water on the blue course. There is no water on the white course. If you walk, you will have quite a hike with the white course, as there are many holes with quite the walk from green to the next tee. Also, you are only about a mile away from the clubhouse at the turn on the white course. Oh, did I mention alcoholic beverages are banned unless there is a tournament, then somehow it is okay to actually consume beer. Oh yeah, they even eliminated alumnus discount too.

    Customer Service:
okay, but they will let non-members w/o tee times just walk in front of you even if you have a tee time

Reviewed by: Ross Raphael, Shoot in the 90s, from Washington DC

    Summary:
The blue course was designed and the construction was supervised by students in the Golf Course Management major at PSU. Must have been one heck of a term project. I found this course to be open in a sneaky sort of way. Just because the ball isn't lost doesn't mean it's gonna be an easy scoring hole. Lots of trees, some water and the terrain make sure you are penalized for bad shots. This course is usually in great shape.

the white course is older than me and looks like the architect also designed battle field defences. There's not much sand, no water, most of the greens are elevated. There is very little irragation on this course which means by June it's burnt and the greens are rock hard. You cant play bump and run to the elevated greens and you can't hold them very easily. Make sure you get close so that you can chip and 2 putt.

    Summary:
There are three courses at the penn state facility. The 18 hole blue course, 18 hole white course and the 6 hole nittany course. The blue course is a pretty nice course, and is kept in very good condition. I would give it a 4 out of five rating. The white course on the other hand is terrible, and the nittany course is worse. If you play, play the blue.
