Reviewed by: Jim from Virginia, Shoots in the 70s, from arlington, virginia

    Summary:
Some "geezing": the first of many times I have played this course here was in 1964 -it was just the second "full-size" course I had ever played. It was here, in 1967, that I first broke 80 (with no mulligans). Even after all these years this course is still a treat to play and not "just for the memories".

The front nine is still one of the most interesting I have ever played featuring some real gambling opportunities, including a blind second shot to a reachable par 5, a tight, driveable par 4, and several "cuttable" doglegs. The back nine was built some years after the front (but still many years ago) and kind of runs out of land with the closing holes bring three shortish 4's and two short 3's. But, what's wrong with a few last chances to recover from some earlier gambling?

I'm going to give this course "5"s" relative to their competitors - scads of public courses in the "golf rich" area of Sharon-New Castle.

    Customer Service:
Nice folks with a way better than average grill menu.

    Summary:
this is a smart golfers course. several doglegs make it more of a game of persice iron play and good positioning off the tee instead of distance. tees are kept very well you will never be standing in a hole on the tee. greens are semi-flat but there are suddle breaksnear the holes. the course is maintained very well in all aspects. if you're passing through mercer county and your open for a great golf experience you should take it into careful consideration.
