Shoots in the 80s

On the plus side, the course has spectacular views, great greens, good condition, and decent customer service. If you use discounts, the course is quite fairly priced. Unfortunately, this course is a victim of something the plagues all modern golf architects. Every single hole had a forced carry (a little over 100 yards)and a large sand trap in front of the green (nothing wrong with that on a few, but I prefer when there is variety. I played the Mountain course twice, and 8 of the holes had downhill drives, and up hill approaches. Every hole was similar.

Customer Service

Good, they were friendly, answered my questions, and left me alone.

Great course. Farely narrow. It is a shotmaking golf course with emphasis on course management. Greens are tough with lots of slope and they keep them fast which is great. 3 different nine holes, all very different. The course itself is tough if you don't keep it on the fairway. Shots that are offline will be penalized. Condition of course is always in great shape, very good superintendent.

Course is in the middle of hills with no houses around. Views are great. Rolling hills.

Great facilities. Good practice greens and chipping area.

Cons: Lots of loud guys yelling on the course. Its cool to have fun but some are way overboard. haha.

Customer Service

Managed very well. Relaxed policies. They don't seem to nit-pick about dress code stuff, but most people who play there know what proper golf attire to wear. However, they let you wear t-shirts. They leave it up to the player to use common-sense on dressing.

The other reviews do a nice job of describing the course, except for two things: 1) in addition to being hard and fast, the greens are very large and have a TON of undulation that will really test your chipping and putting. You need to really be able to control you ball; and 2) I think you'd be foolish to try to walk this course...not so much because of elevation, but there are some serious distances between holes.

This is a fine course and a fun layout, but if you can hit the ball reasonably straight, the difficulty in the course is around the greens.

In the winter months, you can play on Mon or Tues for $62 with cart, or before 9am Wed and Thurs for the same price.

Customer Service

I was very impressed with the staff - very friendly and helpful.

Model Reviewed: Cinnabar Hills

Very intimidating course. Hard/fast greens that roll very true. Beautiful setting and secluded feeling. Fairly generous landing areas, but many tee shots require a forced carry over 50 to
100 yards of "jungle". Numerous uphill and downhill approach shots to rock hard greens requires tour caliber ball striking; otherwise birdies and pars are unobtainable. Several holes are either unfair or need lots of local knowledge. Fairways and greens were under stress indicating that there may be a maintenance issue. Course is not really walkable, although you can try Monday thru Thursday. I was told this was 1st course designed by architect John Harbottle III. Don't know if that is a true statement, but clearly from a playability standpoint this course has serious flaws. On the other hand, if you want to identify someone who is ready to play on any one of the major tours, then send them to the back tees at Cinnabar Hills and let them have at it.

Customer Service

Good, definitely above average for a Public course.

Best golf course in the area including the private courses. They treat customers as if you were in a private club. Course is almost always in perfect condition. Great twilight rates. Best value around.

Course is well maintained. I played the Mountain/Canyon course. Nice elevated tees, you must be very confident and accurate with the tee shots - plenty of out of bounds. This course will humble the best of the weekend hackers.

This course is fantastic! As soon as you come through the entrance and get the first views of the courses, which are cut out through the hills, you begin to feel the excitement of the challenge that awaits. The courses are challenging and offer a lot of creative variety. The courses are extremely well maintained and the view from some of the holes is breathtaking. Don''t expect to nail it on your fist time out beacause course knowledge is key to scoring low at this venue...not that I would be able to score low-even if I knew the course like the back of my hand:)

Customer Service

Fantastic. I am always greeted by friendly people who enjoy doing what they are doing. Also, if you need to special order equipment, they get it to you ASAP.

An absolutely beautiful course that has been laid out in fantastic concert with the natural terrain; Immediately became my favorite course in the Bay Area, hands down. I prefer the Lake and Mountain course, though the Canyon 9 has some nice holes, including a beautiful finisher.

Customer Service

Always excellent. None of the snobbery I''ve experienced at many upscale private courses. Let''s hope it stays that way.

Shoot in the 80s

nice course with really fast greens... took me the second
time to get it right...back tees require lots of carry
while the cinabar tees (6300 yds) are a bit easier if you
don't drive the ball well. twilight rate is pretty good
considering the regular fri-sun rate is a little high.

Customer Service

has computerized tee reservations, got lost and was late, but the staff was really good about getting me and my brother out in a reasonable fashion
