Picked this club up at a golf show over the winter as I figured what could it hurt for $40 (was looking for an 8 degree). It took a month or so to get used to the club, but I was hitting it well (250-280)by late Spring and on into the Summer months. Now the odd part...when the weather turned cooler, my drive went South, way South. For 2 months I struggled with this club hitting it all over the place. A week ago, I tried a friends Launcher out of desperation in 45 degree weather...there was my drive. I used it for 15 holes & it was a beautiful thing. Maybe it's in my head, who knows, but to me, this is not a cold weather club...period. I am ditching the club for a new Launcher.

I agree with all the positive reviews: this is one nifty driver for the money. It's been around a while and like me you can probably find one in the bargain barrell. I got tired of looking for balls whacked into the woods from my Callaway Big Bertha Marketing Tool. The Adams driver keeps you in play and you don't have to pay for all the hype. Being down the middle is the name of the game especially for us older duffers. You can swing it easy with good rhythm, and the ball will take off like a rocket, straight and consistent. Tee it mid to low to avoid popping it up....this isn't one of today's stack-faced mine sweepers...it's less than 300cc. In other words, it LOOKS like a driver.

Model Reviewed: Adams 9.5 Driver FC

I have been using the FC 1.5 years. It has helped me to correct my bananna slice.I have demoed all the top drivers and there is none that will hit the ball farther when hitting the sweet spot on the Adams. I love the driver and would be lost without it. I am 57 years old and my drives will range up to 275 yds. This will be my driver of choice until I can correct my swing and stop coming over the top. My only negative feed back is that I sometimes pull the ball left with the off set club face. If you have a bad slice this is the driver for you. The club alone will not correct all the slice but it helps a great deal. You can buy the club now for 60.00.

Easy club to hit straight, but very shallow clubface...skied it too much. Decided to sell it off.

I bought an Adams SC driver before the summer of 2001 after a few weeks of looking into it online. I read many of the reviews of it on the site, and most people had very good things to say about it. But there were always a few reviews wherever I looked that gave the club awful ratings. I decided that at $99 dollars, it wasnt the end of the world if I couldnt hit the club, so I bought it at golfdiscount.com. It felt a little awkward the first time at the range, and all of my swings produced an extremely low draw that took a nose dive after about 125 yards. I was a bit discouraged and went to get a few tips from my club''s head pro. The next time I went out to the range, the biggest change I made was to move the ball way up in my stance in front of my left foot, and the ball absolutely soared. It was like a thing of beauty watching the ball cut through the air. Although some people have complained about the high ball flight, there was no problem keeping it from ballooning (and I even have the 10.5 degree). This club was a STEAL at $99 and is probably even less expensive now. I can''t imagine that there is a driver out there that I could hit better. Go out and buy it right now. I have hit Big Berthas many times and the feel and control of this is so much better. This was the best golf related purchase I have ever made. The most important thing about it is that it gives me so much more confidence on the tee.

I was looking for driver to replace my dated callaway. I just couldn''t see paying 400 dollars or more. I saw this adams at the golf shop and gave it a try, after my first swing I liked it. However after using it for three months I was about to buy another, thinking this culb just isn''t good for me. Boy was I wrong,I changed the I tee up and my swing! I can tell you this It''s all about the swing. Low and slow and 75%. When I changed my swing and tee the ball lower, let''s just say the ball flew like the express train from hell. I never hit the ball so far. This is a great culb and I soon will be adding a 7 wood. As far as distance 275 plus and on line.

The best driver in the wrong hands can give absurd results. In the past I''ve used drivers from Callaway, Taylor Made, and Dunlop. The Dunlop driver was my most consistent, in the fairway and straight, but shot the ball to high. The others had mixed results, from slices to severe pull hooks. The Adams SC FC had advertised that slices and fades would disappear with the driver. The occasional fade and slice do occasionally rear their ugly head once in a while, however the fairway is where the ball has been landing more often. It took several rounds to figure the driver out and after that, an easssy swing was all that was neccessary to get my drives out to 220-240 yard range. My previous drives were in this range, with mixed ball flights. The shaft on my is the biggest bounus, next to the price. It came with a True Temper EI-70 shaft that only needs a moderate swing tempo to get a good drive. Overall the value is fantastic compared to other Pro-line drivers that cost $250 and up to $400.00. Tee the ball not to high as compared to other drivers or a sky ball can result. That seems to be more common with this driver compared to the others that I''ve had.

This club will unknowingly help you from frequently hitting that strong fade that catches the edge of the high grass, but it certainly is not going to coorect your major swing fault. Length is very good for the price paid, happy with that, but it is not a "Long" driver. The best thing is it keeps you in control without those aggravating penalty strokes or fairway bunkers. Acceptable length, certainly better than average, but not extra long by any means. Avrage golfer should expect routine 240 yard drives.

I''ve said it before and I''ll say it again, I love my 818FC. I have really enjoyed this driver since purchase last Jan. It really helped turn my game around. Went from hitting my starter set driver all over the place (mostly left to right) to lacing drives down the middle. Recently bought a Big Bertha Hawkeye 9degree and thought I''d give it a try (really good reviews). Had a UST Pro Force Stiff put on the Hawkeye. I knew and now know that''s a little stiff for my swing, just a little. Ducks were flying. Had sold my Adams to a buddy, out playing today and I stole it back. He gave me a little over half of what I had in it, but I was just glad to have the Adams SC (some would call:Sucky Club) back in the bag. If it ain''t broke don''t fix it. These clubs are now on eBay for around $55. That''s a deal. Don''t discount this club because of looks or image, try it.
