I purchased this club off ebay and replaced the shaft with an Aldila NV 85.. I cannot believe how well I hit this driver! I can buy any driver on the market but none have been as long or as straight as this combination.. Thanks

I purchased this driver from golfcomponents.com 2 years ago I have a 9 degree with a harrison striper 70 stiff flex shaft. I hit it straight about 270yards some close to 300 yards. I definitly feel confident on the tee with this driver.

I wrote a review for this club in 2003. And I still carry it in my bag. I have bought other drivers over the last 3.5 years, but I keep coming back to the mellow yellow. I hit it just as far as all the big name drivers out there. I am definately more accurate. I set mine up with a 12 degree head and stiff flex proforce shaft. Originally bought with a penley reg. flex but felt a little loose even for my 93-95 mph swing. I also have the fairway woods 3-5-7-9 and they are solid as well. Overall I have been very satified with these woods and I would definately recommend them. As a matter of fact I am thinking about placing another order for another driver head just in case something happens to mine.

I have had the driver,3,7 woods for about 2 yrs. I built them for a buddy of mine who didn't like the big heads, so he sold them to me. I absolutely love these heads. I have them shafted with Rifle 6.5 steel shafts and made about 1/2 in over standard length. These are the longest hitting, most forgiving woods that I have ever hit.
I average well over 300 yds with the driver (in fact it is actually too much club for most of the par 4 holes on the courses I play.) I have driven the green on par 4's on many occasions. I average around 300-310 with the 3 wood off of the tee, and the 7 wood is my go to club on a tight dog-leg or a short par 4.
I would not part with these clubs for the world. If you are looking for a set of woods that are long and forgiving, then I highly recommend trying the Mellow Yellows.

I got this MY for 90 bucks w/ a Accuflex VS339 shaft, used on 300yards.com. After I hit about 70 balls and got used to the 47" shaft thee Y turned into my new favorite.

I'm a long driver and wanted something cheap to start me out. I carry 300+, ball speed 185 MPH and club head speed in the mid 120's. Using this club has given me at least 25 more yards. The balls fly out of the range so fast it's hard to tell how far they are really going. This club is forgiving but when you hit it on the sweet spot you'll beable to tell. Straight as an arrow, I kid you not, the straightest you've ever hit a ball and it carries and carries.

My father hit it about 40 times and improved his drives accuracy and yardage by about 60 yards on average. He was seriously pushing the 300 yard mark and he might barely hit 260's on the best hit of his life, it was truely amazing.

I had people ask me all about the club my first time out. I would let them try it too and the results were the same as mine. Longer and Straighter.

Customer Service

having bought it used, the shaft was a little dinged up which wasn't mentioned in the detail information. I called them right up and they sent my a brand new Accuflex VS339, can't beat that. I recall the words "Would that satisfy you?" They really look out for their customers, awesome!

I own a Mellow Yellow 10.5 with a Gramman
shaft. It was a gift form my Brother in Law. One of the best gifts I ever received. I love this Driver. I have added 20 yards are more to my drive. I am also hitting the ball very straight. It has a very good feel to it. The club is forgiving. I get very good results with off center hits. However, when you do hit one on the button, the feeling is almost sensuous. It has the absolute best feel of any driver I have used. It is also a conversation maker too. I enjoy my golf and play a loose and easy game. Lots of jokes and wise cracks. I have gotten a lot of notoriety as tht guy with the funny driver. This club suits me to a tee. Plus with my yellow and purple Ping bag, I can be seen from a mile away.

I have played with many titanium drivers including Taylor made , Ping and Callaway. The only Driver that comes close is the Taylor made r360 which is no longer made. It had a great fee, also.

I build clubs for a hobby. For the past couple years, the mellow yellow 420 is the one driver I cannot live without. Sure it has a funny sound to it, but I have not found anyone who does not notice an increase in distance. This thing is amazing! I have built probably 40 different drivers over the past two years, but i cannot find any other head that gives me the consistency and distance of the 420 (averaging 270 to 280 on the fly). The bangomatic 401 is a very close 2nd, with the Taylormade 580 XD in 3rd. The drivers Bang has put out over the past couple years are incredible.

I was surfing e-bay and found the Mellow Yellow driver by accident. It looked interesting to be so I bought it and put a Penley Graphite Lite shaft w/Winn grip. It took me a bucket of balls to get used to the bigger head, but once I got the hang of it, I liked it very much. I just played my first round w/the driver and reached a 500 yead par 5 in two shots. The first time I ever did that. I seem to get about 20-25 yards more compared to my old TaylorMade Supersteel Burner driver. Very happy, especially for the low price!

Bang's Yellow Mellow was not the first club i chose to test drive, but when i did it surprised me. i am 27 years old so i can hit the ball fairly long, but still try to over power it a little too much. with my old driver i used to hit the ball 225-240, but now that i'm using the big yellow stick, i'm averaging 240-275, the odd one goes 300. the club has given me a new confidence with my swing, it has a bigger sweet spot that has straightened my drives. i no longer have to yell, fore, because of my slice, just when i drive past the foursome in front of me while they are hitting their there third shot. the cosmetics of the driver are kind of ugly, but who cares!!it is a great conversation piece waiting between holes. i have now been using it for my last 6 rounds and it has taken 2 shots off my game. i recommend giving it a try, the price is fairly cheap and is a good club for someone who plays 10-20 times a year, like me.

Listen, if you can't hit this club longer and straighter than any other driver you've tried, quit the game. The Mellow Yellow has taken my average drive from 265-270 to 290-300. If you don't think the extra yards help, think again. I went from an 8 to a 4 to scratch in a year. I give most of the credit to being 9iorn/wedge away from most par 4's. Everyone who has seen this club wanted it. I had one down side with it, though. If you hit the ball high with your clubs, make sure you do NOT get a loft greater than 7.5* This club launches the ball into space. So when you look at my average, that is ALL CARRY. I have purchased a 7.5* with a shaft that has a high kick point in hopes of hitting ropes that roll. if you want to get better distance and lower scores, this club will do it. I have let all of my friends (hit in the 70's-100's) try this, and EVERY SINGLE ONE gained distance and accuracy. It might be a little loud, but it doesn't hurt your ears just the egos of all watching.

Customer Service

Gallagher Golf is the best golf company. Very personable and would do anything for you. If you buy from them, make sure to tell all of your friends where you got it.
