Model Reviewed: Calaway BBB 11 Degree

Played the club for the first and I only missed one fairway. Was originally hitting the GBB (and very well I might add), but I felt it was time for a change (just for the hell of it).

I have always played Callaway, so I decided to go with the biggest boy they have. So far, I am very pleased.

Here is a summary of my experience:

PROS:
(1) I feel extremely comfortable at address due to the large head (this to me was the biggest pro - golf is 50% confidence). You can tee this baby up real high, and take a nice smooth swing, and the club does the rest for you. Club face is about 22% larger than the GBB
(2) I thought the large shaft length would make it difficult to control a slice, but this was not a problem. A nice smooth swing produced a farily straight shot, varying no more than 5-10% from where I was aiming (I hit 13 of 14 fairways).
(3) Length was not a big deal. It was longer than my GBB, but only 5 yards or so.
(4) I was suprisingly impressed with the trajectory of my ball flight. It had a good launch angle, and not as high as I thought. Was not a problem playing into the wind.

CONS:
So far the only complaint is a small one. Club impact with the ball is not a crisp as with other Callway drivers. It has a funny feel to it. However, with the results I won't complaint too much about that.

Simply the best!!!

This club is amazin'. I've loved it from the moment I first hit it. It reduced my slice and and I'm hittin' the ball about 275yds on avg. off the tee. It's given me the confidence I need to become a better player and now I'm in the low 90s and high 80s all the time. It's a little pricy but I mean it's a great cluib if you have the money. I suggest if you have trouble finding the sweet spot this club is for you.

I have a 10 degree, 8 degree, and 6.5 degree. The best driver for me is the 8 degree, I can work the ball the best and not really sacrifice any distance. The 10 degree is a very nice driver, but for me, just a little too high off the tee. It really does make a pretty nice fairway wood though. The 6.5 degree is just a little too tough to consistently control for me. It is a little longer and heavier than the others. All have replacement stiff shafts which makes a huge difference. I would recommend these clubs to any level golfer. I have found all of the Callaways to be much easier to consistently hit than any of the Taylors. The major consideration should be to get the proper shaft for your swing. The club is somewhat forgiving but there is a definite "feel". You immediately know when you hit one on the "screws"

Model Reviewed: Biggest Big Bertha 9* stiff shaft

The best driver on the market. It hits straight and long. The feel is one that only a Callaway can produce. Only one objection-the factory shaft is a piece of crap and has broke once already. I had to replace the new shaft because it was to whippy for my quick swing speed. I put an EI-70 on it and have not yet had the chance to hit it ( bad weather ). Even with the old shaft I was able to smash half a dozen 300+ drives on the course. I have also hit this club ( a 7* ) with an AJ Tech on it and that gives the club even more distance and control. The club is two years old and retains its great feel and distance. A great purchase.

i first started out with an 11 degree original big bertha with a factory callaway shaft. the graphite started to split, so i went out and bought a steelhead and put a proforce 65 stiff shaft on it. i hit this club very well, in the 260-280 yard range. just lately, i purchased a biggest big bertha with a proforce 65 stiff shaft and i have to say, this club is a miracle. i have cut 4-6 storkes off my game because of this club. thank you callaway. R.I.P.

I LOVE THIS CLUB. I HAVE THE BB STIFF SHAFT. GREAT DISTANCE. CALLOWAY HAS THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE CLUB/SHAFT HAS A 2 YEAR WARRANTY. I BOUGHT MY CLUB BACK IN '98 AND THE SHAFT JUST RECENTLY SNAPPED. I CALLED THE CALLOWAY AND THEY SAID EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A YEAR PAST THE WARRANTY THEY WOULD FIX THE CLUB FREE OF CHARGE. I ALSO HAD THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT SO THIS MIGHT HAVE HELPED.

Model Reviewed: Biggest Bertha 7 degree

This is a long story. I had a 9 degree Biggest Bertha with a stiff callaway shaft about three years ago. I used it for about a year or so, and liked it. When Callaway came out with the Hawkeye, I tried it and liked it so I traded my Biggest in for the Hawkeye. Don't get me wrong, I like the Hawkeye 9 degree but I kick myself that I had gotten rid of my Biggest. Back in January when Callaway came out with the VFT, I just had to have one. I got an 8 degree and this club was the worst feeling club I have ever had. I traded it in for a 9 degree and it still stunk. So I traded in the VFT for a Taylor and though I was sold at first on the feel of the 320, that quickly wore off. I then tried the 300 which felt much like the VFT and back to my Hawkeye I went. I took the 300 back and got store credit. What to do with 400 bucks in a golf store? I just happened to be looking around in the used club section and came across a Biggest Bertha 7 degree. It was used but in pretty decent shape. The face looks clean and the sole plate is slightly tarnished. For 120 bucks I had to get it. As soon as I bought it, I took it to the range. It had an aftermarket shaft I had never heard of before and it definately was too wippy for me. But just the familiar click and the feel of the club brought instant confidence. I immediately took it in to get a pro force 75 stiff shaft in it. I haven't gotten it back yet, but I have a feeling that I've got my perfect club. THose of you who onw a Biggest, don't you laugh when ever other companies compare the distance of their drivers to the Great Big Bertha, not the Biggest. The only reason for that is, it would be difficult to beat this club. I am really looking forward to trying it out for real

Customer Service

Always have gotten terrific service from Callaway

I've had this club for a year. I love it but just 30 minutes ago, I was at the range and the head broke off of the shaft. I didn't duff it either, it just broke off. The good news is though that I called Callaway and they are going to repair it for free (re-shaft and re-finish the head). You can't beat that. They didn't even blink an eye about doing it.

Model Reviewed: Biggest Big Bertha 9* stiff shaft

This is by far the longest driver I have ever hit. Though length wasn't an issue, I was pleasently surprised to find that it not only put 20 yards on an already long drive but also put it straight down the middle of the fairway. I have a EI-70 stiff flex shaft in it and recommend it because the head is kinda heavy. I've tested a lot of clubs and this is club was by far the most fun to hit. Get it if you're thinking about it!
