Cleveland Hibore XL Tour Drivers

Cleveland Hibore XL Tour Drivers

DESCRIPTION

This driver takes Distance Driven Geometry to a whole new level, creating Full-Face Performance (FFP) for the ultimate in driving effectiveness. By creating a face-centered sweetspot for greater distance from anywhere on the clubface as well as a high Moment of Inertia (MOI) for stability on off-center hits, Cleveland designers have combined power, precision and forgiveness. With the Fujikura Fit-On shaft fitting system as well, your HiBORE XL will be customized to your swing for maximum performance.

this is the worst club ever mainly because it makes the worst sound at impact and the head feels cheap. If you want a great new driver go with the ping g5. Long and straight

Not the longest driver off the tee, but very forgiving on miss-hits. I have a lot of confidence that it will deliver a good drive on tight fairways. I can generally hit a 5-iron about 190 yards, and generally average about 230-260 with this driver. My game is not quite good enough to consistently shape shots, so I cannot comment on that aspect.

Nice Driver. I purchased a Hibore XL tour 10.5 degree driver with gold shoft this winter. Ater playing a few rounds the total length doesn't play an longer than the R5 TP or 580XD drivers I've played over the last few years, but the 3 degree open face fits nicely with my game. I normally play a slight draw with my misses being hooks. With this driver I draw the ball slightly less, but my misses are not the exagerated hook of the past. The ball also carries about 10-15 yards further which is nice, but this may be due to going from 9.5 drivers to this 10.5.

I tried the club using a swing simulator and was impressed with the distance. The ball flight showed a fade, which is how a lot of my shots fly. I was concerned that the 3 degree open face would cause my shots to fade even more. Intrigued by the distance, I bought the club. I figured I could compensate for the open face. The first chance I got to use the club was a justification that I made the right choice. My compensation technique was to line up from the center to the left side of the tee box. Overall, this worked. The ball flight was generally straight to a reasonable fade. If you buy this club as described, be prepared to swing 95+ mph. My drives had good distance; with my best drive peaking at about 280 yards. I liked the sound of the club on impact; you know when you've hit good. In the simulator, it seems to be longer than the other clubs I tested. For what these clubs are going for these days, I highly recommend it.

The look of the club head takes a little getting used to, but overall it has a nice look to it. The sound at impact is horrid, though it does varry. I hit this club a ton, got a lot more roll out of it then with my previous drivers. however, it was much harder to shpe my shots with it. I also found that mis-hits were not very forgiving. Overall trying it for a season was not a total loss, but I am looking for something new this year.

Model Reviewed: Hibore-XL TOUR 10.5 X-stiff

Just got my Hibore XL Tour with 10.5 degrees of loft an an X-stiff accuflex shaft. Great combo for me. The head is 3 degrees open and I love the look at setup. I'm confident I will not hook the ball. I'm a strong player and my miss is a high hook. I hit over 100 balls on te range with this beast and not one hook! I even tried to hook and couldn't. Even the shots that I started left cut back nicely towards my target. Miss was a straight pull but not far off line by any means. I have the confidence to aim this thing left, swing hard with a full release and not worry about hooking it. I couldn't draw it but them again I always play a fade but in the past my misses were high hooks which are doubly bad when you aim left! Now I can take the left side out of play. Sound is nice. Not too loud like some claim. Trajectory is high but it bores thru any wind. Very low spinning and it runs alot. I love the combination of high initial launch and low spinning. It's the longest club I ever hit and I feel it's the most accurate for me. You probably need to swing over 110 mph to reap the benefits of this baby. It has a nice black finish and I love the tour headcover. Currently 15 PGA players have this in their bag. The 10.5 degree head launches more like a 9.5 for me. The tour version does not have an 11.5 degree option. They made a mistake their because weaker players might really enjoy the 11.5 in a softer shaft. These are cheap on Ebay and probably the best deal out there..

Funny noise but long and straight. Personally I love its looks. I use the regular Gold shaft but will probably need something stiffer soon.

Model Reviewed: XL Tour 10.5 red shaft

first 10.5* driver I have ever played. always hit 7.5 - 9.5 drivers thought 10's and up would go straight up and down. after reading some very interesting material out of golf digest and finding out that actually most of the pros on tour are actually playing 9.5 - 11.0 drivers even though they have 7.5 & 8.5 stamped on the heads it made me wonder if that's the reason they average 280-300+ drives. well I have always been able to drive the ball pretty well with not to much trouble. average carry between 250-270 depending on conditions. I swear I have p/u an extra 10-20 yards w/this 10.5* driver. the stock red shaft is awesome no need to change to anything else. must agree with last poster this thing is a hammer and kills the ball long and straight. traded in a bridgestone 420 head 8.5 plus 75.00 bucks. more than pleased w/trade.

This thing is a hammer. It hits a hard flat ball that runs forever. I don't see it leaving the bag anytime soon. I have always considered myself a good driver of the golf ball, and average length (270-275 yards). I am easily 15 yards longer with this baby, and my accuracy/confidence has improved quite a bit. Get one and you won't be dissapointed. Takes a while to get used to it, but once you do, it will be a weapon.
