Cleveland HiBORE Drivers

Cleveland HiBORE Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Through the history of persimmon woods, drivers have always been round. As time progressed and technology advanced, they've grown bigger and are now made of a variety of metals, but for the most part, they've maintained the round shape. Up until now, form has dictated function... The HiBORE™ Driver has changed all that. For the first time, function is dictating form. HiBORE is truly the new shape of distance. The HiBORE is the ultimate high-launch / low-spin driver. Because of its unique crown geometry, the location of the Center of Gravity (CG)* is lower and deeper than ever before. Consequently, it produces drives that go farther and straighter from a larger portion of the clubface than any other driver in existence.

I've been playing golf for about 7 years now, I'm 6'1" and about 190 lbs. I had been using about a 5 year old Callaway my dad had given me in high school but noticed that my smaller friends with slower swing speed were hitting the ball further than I was. So I decided it was time for some new technology. As soon as I picked up the Cleveland Hibore, my distance increased at least 15 to 30 yards per swing, and suprisingly STRAIGHTER!!! Now I'm the long ball in the group. I highly recommend the Hibore to any golfer whether you shoot in the hundreds or you are scratch, this is a great driver for anyone.

I ended up getting the stock Fujikura shaft after trying them all, as it was the only one that would get the ball up in the air. In spite of that, I just could never hit this club consistently. Most misses were low hooks and it just did not have the distance I was looking for. The sweet spot is small compared to the Ping G5 and the Cobra 460 series. After 2 weeks and 5 rounds I finally gave up and traded it for the Cobra HS-9, a HUGE improvement. Cleveland's Launcher 460 series was a much better club in my hands than the HiBore. I feel they have taken a step backwards with this one.

I had very high hopes for this driver but was dissapointed all around. Not only was it ten yards shorter than my Ping G5 I couldn't find the fairway with it. I have a 90-95 MPH swing speed so I'm not at all a long hitter and I'd hoped this club would help, perhaps with some extra roll which so many other reviewers claim to have gotten. The problem is that the ball doesn't roll in the rough which is where I always ended up. So short and crooked. Not too good.

Give me a break! Who cares what it sounds like. The thing fires the ball out there! And straight.
I've been a Cobra lover for several years and I recently bought the new Speed Series Driver and took it back. Went on a launch monitor (highly recommended) and discovered a better launch angle and less spin with the High Bore. Was confident enough to buy it without actually hitting it on the range. Played my first round with it yesterday and my worst drive was still pretty decent. So far I really like it alot and personally, I feel it is the most solid feeling (and sounding) driver I have ever owned. I can't say just yet if it is any longer than my Cobra 400 but I will soon put it to the test and report back. I bought the 9.5 reg flex stock fujikura and paid $299 Highly recomend!!

This drive emits a loud piercing sound upon impact. Leaves my ear ringing all the time. Took a while to get used to the set up and size of this driver. Now able to hit long and straight. Highly recommendable but bring ear plugs.

Long and straight. the best driver out there, hands down. Loud, confidence inspiring sound at impact, and this club is so easy to work left or right. The ball feels like it just explodes off the face, and I hit 30 yards longer than with my old sasquatch and taylormade r7. 9.5 aldila nvs stiff shaft work well.

A great piece of equipment. I have been searching for a driver that would help my low ball flight and I have found it in the Hi-Bore. This driver gives me High ball flight that is penetrating and gets roll out at the end. I have experimented with the graphalloy blue pro launch shaft with other heads (sasquatch, adams, callaway) but the Hi-Bore combo gets the best results. Forgiveness is of the charts, Club loves the fairway and Distance is right on par with anything i've hit. I normally don't try to kill the ball but i took a good rip on a par 5 this past weekend and wow, I believe it was my farthest drive ever. Overall I had problems with a low ball flight this driver is my cure. HI-BORE RULES

I bought this club about 6 weeks ago after a demo round with one in Myrtle Beach. I have gone through about 6 drivers in the past 8 or 9 years and couldn't get used to the big heads and teeing the ball as high as Mount Everest. I love this club and can tee it up to a normal hight. It is longer for me, no question, but not by a ton.. maybe 10 more yards. However, I always ended up with my new drivers in the garage after a couple weeks as I would put a ball or two off the course and blow up good scores. In any event, I have played about 15 rounds with this puppy and have put a total of 2 balls off the course. This thing is hard to hit way off line. A true believer.

i'm a 6 handicapper, 118mph swing speed (according to a nike launch monitor). i've always been a cleveland golf fan, but i have to admit this driver disappointed me a bit; in all honesty everything cleveland has put out since the launcher 400 has disappointed me. but this one, i thought, would bring back the love for cleveland drivers. i have one word to describe the hibore...LEFT. the things i look for in a driver are feel, distance, control, looks, and sound, basically in that order. the feel at impact is harsh, like hitting a rock. the feel of the club in your hands is decent, as you can feel the tungsten weight in the low right part of the sole. the distance is average (in comparison to an R5 TP, fusion, ignite, sasquatch tour, and a 905s). control is a total bomb, although if you are looking for a driver to cure your slice, this is it :)!! looks get an 'A' as far as the head design, but i still can't get use to the way it looks at address. and sound...sheesh. i thought the ping was loud! its so loud its distracting. my swing thought has gone from 'tempo tempo tempo' to 'holy crap this things gonna be loud'! maybe my expectations were higher than they should have been, but this is clevelands fault for making great equipment in the past :)! overall this isnt the worst driver out there, but i HIGHLY recommend taking a demo to the course for a round before you spend $300 (not $400 anymore) for one.
