Model Reviewed: Mizuno MP-001 460 11.5

I am hitting a 11.5 head with a Harmon Tour Design stiff shaft.

I am hitting the fairway about 85% of the time and the ball has a boring draw that gets to about 275.

For the money, this is the best driver I have used. I paid about $60 on ebay and have used it for 80+ rounds. I don't know what the deal is with an 11.5 degree driver, but this club with my swing goes low and long and gets considerable roll - sometimes too much

I'm not sure which is better - the Cleveland Launcher 460 or this. Since it is so close I play the Mizuno. I have a bias of functionality over looks, but this has to be the nicest looking driver I have ever seen.

Mizuno makes top notch equipment, and this club is no exception.

This driver is the easiest to consistently hit the sweet spot of any I've tried. The weighting helps square the club face at address, which makes it very forgiving. At this loft it hits low and long. My previous driver, a Cobra, hits longer but the MP-001 hits straighter and is easier to work shots left and right. I'll gladly give up the 10-15 yards distance to be in the fairway on every shot. Seriously, a straight shot every time. The Cobra's now in the garage. A great purchase!

I hi this for a year and absolutley loved the distance and straightness, if thats a word. I have a 105 swing speed and with the Pro Launch Blue in stiff the ball flight was great.
Two weeks ago I noticed I was losing distance, after inspecting the driver I noticed the head was cracked right near the hosel were the face and crown join. It's a shame cause I loved the driver and it has taken me 2 weeks to find a suitable replacement. I switched to the Nike SQ Tour 460 and feel it is even straighter and longer.

I have several MP-001 drivers in 400. I recently decided to swith to a stiff shaft. I was a little hesitant going to a 11.5 driver. However, I am hitting the ball straighter and no higher than my 10 degree drivers.

If you are into looks, I believe these are the best looking driver and they also appear to be among the best with respect to quality. Minuno appears to be a notch above in product quality.

This club is dead straight and suspect it will have a higher flight for most. I don't believe there is much of a distance loss, but I will trade 10 yards for being in the fairway 80% of the time.

Awesome driver - and awesome shaft - Harmon Tour Design - stiff

Of course it is of the highest quality if it has the MIZUNO stamp on it. This driver is as long as anything on the market. It may not have the MOI of some of the newer models, but if you have a consistent swing this will be all you ever need. I have the UST x-stiff shaft and am confident that any mistakes are swing flaws and not the club's fault. You will not find a better driver on the market. I have hit them all.

Customer Service

MIZUNO is the best in terms of quality and customer service.

i was previously shooting in the high 80s when i was using my dads callaway warbird yeh thats a gud club but its a small head and i found it to be inconsistent. when i bought the Mizuno MP001 410 i immediatley shot an 80 first day out with it. i used to play a fade bt am now playing a little draw and am consistently hitting the fairway. it is a 9 degree with a grafalloy blue stiff shaft and it flies!!!!! no jokes i am hitting 270m plus on occassions. i was on a 15 handicap but am now on a 11 in the space of 3 weeks and i am convinced it is because i am now playing from the short grass. if you are looking for a consistent driver and one that has good distance i reccomend this.

Model Reviewed: 11.5 degree MP-001 460 cc with stock Exsar 60 shaft REGULAR flex

Excellent driver. Very long with little effort needed. Hits lower than the MX500. Good forgiveness. Regualar flex shaft plays more like stiff flex.

For the money you can get these at, probably THE best driver for the money(in my opinion, anyway).
