Nickent Golf 3dx Square Drivers

Nickent Golf 3dx Square Drivers

DESCRIPTION

A high MOI (moment of inertia) forged titanium head in a new avant-garde square geometry are featured in the latest driver from Nickent Golf. The 3DX Square driver is designed to go straighter with its Total Accuracy Control technology. This new geometric shape moves the CG further back in the clubhead and offers a very high MOI that helps keep the clubhead from twisting at impact. This 3DX Square profile repositions weight to the corners of the clubhead, raising the MOI across both the horizontal and vertical axes. This produces greater stability and forgiveness for ball striking across the entire face, which is much wider than your average driver.

OK, let me tell you what this club is not. It's not a miracle cure for all your driving woos. If that's what you're looking for, this driver will not meet your expectations. Physics still counts, so if you have a severe outside in swing or an open or closed club face at impact, you get what you get.

Let me tell you what it is: everything the manufacturer says; low, piercing ball flight (compared to other drivers, especially the Callaway), straight as an arrow and the ball comes hot off the face which means speed when said ball hits the ground. It is SOMEWHAT workable, but the predominant ball flight is straight ahead.

I LOOOOOOOVED the Callaway FT-i and hit it a lot at demos. Went to hit it again and the sales type pointed me to the Nike SQ2. It was OK but I really liked the Callaway. Was going to Golfdom to think about buying the Callaway again and they had the Nickent. Hit it a few times and liked it. They were pretty much square bigots there..."Same as any other square driver, just cheaper". Ding ding ding. $160 (20% discount) versus $600...$160. $600. I took a chance and bought it. At first it was tough to get use to and there was some buyer's remorse but kept at it and the proof has been in the pudding. I'm in the fairway 2/3- 3/4 of the time versus 1/3 with my G5.

What's really noticeable is the off center hits. My Ping torques bigtime if I wander too far off the sweet spot. You hardly even feel it with the Nickent, but you do see a shorter ball flight.

The results have been good. First time out, I drove through the fairway. Last round, I hit one at dusk and SWORE I pulled it left. Drove up the fairway and there it was, nestled right in the middle.

This will sound familar but the club does the work for you. I know I have a good chance of hitting a nice shot so I've relaxed and swung smoother with this club and the ball just goes. I've hit some 290 and 300 yard drives with it in the fairway so I'm pleased. Again, I was relaxed. My Ping G5 will go 10-15 yards further on my best swings BUT that's a rarity. 70% of the time I'm hunting in the woods for my ball. Like I said, this one is straight and in the middle.

Kinda like the man said, 90% of this game is 150% mental. This club gives you permission to take it out of the bag and go for it off the tee. If you can get past your friends calling it the "Waffle Iron", this club will help your game. Hopefully, the beers you win on the 19th will ease the sting.

Not needed. One kwvetch...Be careful. All UST V2 shafts look the same. Regular and stiff flex are the exact same except for a little label on the shaft. I bought regular flex when I've been told to buy was extra stiff every other time(157 MPH ball speed mandated it). BUT it's worked out great. Maybe I'm more conscious of the shaft flex now which has forced me to swing smoother, but the ball goes long and straight for me. Like I said, 300 yards is not a punchline. 275 more normal though.

Ping G5 - Great club if you're a good driver...it's not you, it's me.
Cobra 460 - nice but...
Nike (demo'd)-couldn't STAND the sound of screaming kittens evertime I hit it. Did they go out of their way to make the impact sound unbearable? It's really the reason I COULDN'T buy the club.
Callaway - Loved it but couldn't STAND the sound of my wife beating my butt for a single $600 club.

This driver is really nice. It took me about a week to get used to but I am now hitting some of my longest drives ever.(swing speed 100-105) I was hitting a Taylor made 580xd with a V2 stiff and loved it. I could work the ball really well and had a consistent draw ball fight. I did not need a new driver but being that 3 years ago I caught the golf bug the new club bug came with it.
Truthfully what drew me to the Nickent 3DX square was the price and V2 shaft at 46 inches long. I love the shaft. What I do when looking for a new club I hit my driver and the drivers I am looking to buy. If my driver out performs the contenders then what’s the point. In the case of the Nickent I had a faster swing speed and more distance. I didn’t like the sound at first but I am really stating to like it. I think this driver is one you should try and see if it is better than you current driver. I know Golf Galaxy and Golf Smith will let you take your current driver into hit in there simulator. (for swing speed reasons)

I have been experimenting with drivers for the past 3 years. While I can usually get plenty of distance, I have had the tendency to spray the ball, leaving me in the rough (or worse) for my second shots.

I have used a Sasquatch, Sumo and Ping G2 with similar results and have been quite frustrated. I just got my new Nickent 3DX Square driver yesterday and took it out for a spin at the range. WOW! This puppy is straight AND looooong. The sound of a sledgehammer against a fire hydrant is a small price to pay for what this club can do.

Everyone at the range was commenting on how well I was hitting this club and several of them ended up trying it out. I am used to people watching me hit on the range, but not because I am hitting the ball well . . . usually because they are running for cover! This club seems to ignore your tee height and position and just blasts the ball, even with my inconsistent ball-striking ability.

I have a driver swing speed of about 98-100 mph. I purchased the 10.5 degree model fitted with the stock UST Proforce V2 Regular Flex shaft. Perhaps the best part of this club is its price! I paid $144 (plus shipping) for this club BRAND NEW on eBay. I cannot wait to play this weekend and try this baby out on the course.
