I had been playing with an older titanium driver with a shaft that was a poor fit for me, went to a Callaway demo day, hit the new BBII 9degree with strong shaft over the netting out of the range, but $400, geeze, found the AirMax on ebay, perfect for reshafting, go to Dynacraftgolf.com if you know your true swing speed and look at the info on shafts there, pick a shaft based on the swing speed ratings there, they have done exhaustive research on shaft flex, can't say enough about them, anyway, I selected a Harrison Striper titanium, $32, tipped to stiff, my swing speed is 105+, and with this new head I am now more accurate than ever and distance is amazing, let me mention this, the shaft is the engine, if you don't properly match the shaft to your swing and swing speed it doesn't matter what head you use you will be disappointed. For the money though, Nicklaus equipment is a bargain and as long and accurate as anything on the market, and the Harrison shaft is a bargain and is designed with oversized heads in mind, minimizes twisting and shaft lag, you can't go wrong, and for $100 total I have a driver that is as hot as anything on the market!

I normally do not write reviews, I just use them when purchasing my clubs. But this driver compelled me to write one. The Nicklaus Airmax 360 is as good a driver as there is out there. It is long, forgiving, accurate, solid sounding, everything one would want. I have hit them all and the Airmax can not be beat. Be sure and notice which model I am talking about, the newer Airmax 360cc. I also am playing it with a UST Proforce 65 shaft.

The greatest name in golf has designed a very good driver for your game. Built with the latest materials and technology without the sticker shock of some of the others. Mine has a Fujikura stiff flex shaft and a Winn Grip. Feels good, light weight, and easy to swing. Plenty of distance, and forgiving on off center hits. If you get a chance to demo one, give it a few swings. I'll bet that you will like this driver too! Good golfing !

Great Driver! I went to a huge driver demo sponsored by Nevada Bobs, and tried every driver there, except the Airmax b/c I thought it was just a name gimmick, but a buddy of mine who is a rep for Ping told me to try the airmax. At first the coffee can of a head was a little disturbing, but after a couple of swings, I was sold. The ball flies off the face, it is very easy to control in all conditions...I would recommend this to any of my buddies, but I don't want them in on the secret. Also as an easy club to swing, it has created great confidence in the rest of my game...especially now that is seems like I hit wedge into every green. Great job Jack.

First off let me say that this a great club. Long and just a forgiving as any on the market and at a bargain price (Jacks clubs just can`t seem to break through). As for Nathan or any other player in the 90s who post reviews. Clubs are not your problem. Players in the 90s should spend more time on the course and less time on the computer. You can`t buy a game and its not the club.

Well first off I will say, this club does add distance. I found I was hitting the ball 20 yards farther. But... I bought the club in the first place because I had heard of its great forgiveness, and it is this I was least impressed with. I found the club’s size to be unmanageable, it felt unwieldy. Though I am impressed enough with the distance and the quality of build of the 430cc, to give the 360cc with a different shaft a try. I tried the graphite s-flex, and it was fine, but no matter what graphite I try, they all feel vague and unbalanced to me. Also the grip could have been a little more grip. I think all in all, this is a good club, perhaps I just got the wrong size and shaft.

Model Reviewed: 430cc Air Bear

I love reading the reviews at this site, but have never felt obligated to submit anything till I bought this driver. My former driver was an old Big Bertha War Bird that I hit very inconsistently. I had my mind made up on a Titleist 957 and had it all but bought when the salesman suggested I hit the 430cc Air Bear in the simulator. Sales pitch, right? Trying to move these Nicklaus drivers that won't sell. Well, there was no comparison. I didn't even request to take it to a range to observe ball flight, which I would normally insist on before dropping that much cash on 1 club. I have not been disappointed. My friends who spent $400+ on Pings, Great Big Berthas, etc. all want to hit my Air Bear after the 1st tee. I would recommend this driver to anyone. I could always hit a driver straight with a slight draw, but nothing inspires as much confidence at address like the 430cc Air Bear. Whatever money you spend on this club is well worth it.

The AirMax 430cc driver is the longest hitting, most forgiving driver I have ever hit. I am 57 years old, and my game has been stuck in the low 80s. The first round of golf moved me into the 70s with a one over par 73. I have airmax 3&5 woods as well, and the airmax woods put me on every par 5 in two strokes. The pro at my course hit the 430cc AirMax, and liked it better than his Ping driver. He said it had no vibration, and hit farther than his Ping.

As an admitted gear junkie, I am always looking for an advantage in equipment. I have been playing for 10 years now and always have my eyes open for new stuff. This year when my Ping TiSi started to look old, I started looking for a replacement driver. I ordered the new Si3 from Ping but took it back because of it seemed lacking in feel. Good forgiveness but the feel factor was missing. I also looked at the Adams Redline, Too bulky looking longer shaft,983 nice club but something was still missing. I also hit the GBB2. Cobra, 580,540 and nothing felt right. I walked in the golf store and asked for advice on drivers and the salesman handed me the Airmax 360S. I swung it in the cage and it felt good. I decided to give it a try. I took me a few rounds and all of a sudden the fujikura shaft started to wake up and I started hitting the BACK NET!! I have never done that with my TiSi at the range. The airmax will give you a slight draw and is also very forgiving. I am very happy with this driver!!
