Great driver!!!! Got it yesterday, went right to the range and hit about 30 balls about 260 but all of them sliced BADLY!!! I came right home and called Ping. The customer service department is AMAZING!!! The CS rep (Tom) asked me a series of questions and told me what club I needed. Turns out that the Vista Pro 60 was installed incorrectly so for $70 I sent it back to Ping to have the original shaft installed and the lie angle changed to green. I'll end up with a custom fit Ping club for around $200 which I'm VERY happy about.

This is a VERY forgiving driver...it seemed like it went exactly where I aimed no matter how hard I swung. I was hitting a 9* model with a stiff ping shaft, but I am switching to a 7* model with an X-Stiff Graffaloy Tour Shaft. The 9* balooned on me way too much. I put a lot of spin on the golf ball. I would recommend that you go with a little lower loft or a little stiffer shaft than you think...it has a HIGH trajectory. Distance with this driver is about the same as all other top of the line drivers on the market...not too sure about all these 25 handicappers hitting it 300+, but hey, more power to them. I am scratch witha 110 mph swing speed and hit it about 280 at sea level. So that should give a pretty good example of REALISTIC distances.

Well, I just picked up this driver off ebay, and it came in yesterday. It's a brand new Ping Si3 (Including cool headcover) which I got for 185 uSD (about 270 for me, since I'm in Canada). We have snow up here now, so I can't really hit the driver, but after reading all these reviews, everybody seems to be just so happy about it, and I just can't wait to hit it next year. I hit my driver now 300+, so I'm really wondering what this thing can do for me. I'll let you guys know.

I was mightily impressed the first time I took this out. I had never hit anything similar (just standard size, steel heads previously) and even at address it just looked like it was going to hit long. Definately sends it higher than most stiff shaft, low degree drivers but I prefer that ball flight anyway. Don't know if it has added distance yet (only played 1 round so far) but distance not my priority anyway. So far, great club!

I posted this review in with the 983K by mistake. I think the 983K with the Pro Vista 60 Stiff shaft would be better for the average golfer. I tried it with the Graffaloy 35 Stiff, and this is way too much shaft for 95% of golfers. The 983K has a draw bias, which is good, and yes it's not everyone's imagination, it draws easily as intended by the manufacturer. Of course, most here hit 270-320 yards, so the Graffaloy X-flex is probably needed by 70% of the posters. Ping Si3 380 Summary: Ping Si3 380, 10 degree, green dot, S-Flex Fujikura Pro Vista 60, Golf pride tour wrap by Ping WRX. Green dot (lie and loft) - if you are 5'10' plus and slice at all, get the 60 degree lie angle. I was worried it may be to upright, and duck hook, this is not the case. This is the best configuration in my opinion. Also, 10 degrees is the best loft for me overall and pobably best for most 95-105 MPH golfers. All this chatter about it's to high is just that - chatter! length - as good as any out there and better than many (not longest and not the shortest Accuracy - very good - straight with some draw bias height - high with great trajectory (not a ballon) Slice/hook - not much of either - have to realy swing bad to get either of these results. Forgiveness - Un-matched - likes low on face, toe, whatever you throw at it, the reward is better than deserved in most cases I've tried many and this is so good, I refuse to even test another driver in the future. I got rid of my Ping Tisi 10 S-flex and will not another mistake with my new 10 380 S-flex.

Two words. Great driver. I used to have 210 to 220 yard drives with my 975J, but since i got my Si3 i have been hitting them 240 to 250. It has helped me get to greens in regulation and more drives in the fairway. Dislikes are the high drive. But still get good roll.

Model Reviewed: Si3 10* silver dot, S-flex Si3 shaft

Pros: Very deep face almost rules out any mis-hits on the crown or pop-ups for a higher handicapper like me. Ability to custom-fit a driver hosel (nearly impossible with other brands). Cool leather headcover. Solid feel and sound. Cons: Not very long - lost 10 yards vs. my old TiSI Tec, and 20 yards shorter than the GBB2. Probably best for 10 and under handicappers who can take a stronger swing at it than I can. Very high trajectory for a 10* driver even with a stiff stock shaft (I got stiff because I tend to hit high balls, sometimes out of play, but didn't want to go to 9* loft). Somewhat dull feel on impact. Just a comment: maybe this club is best for all those guys on this website who say "My first drive, I hit it 300 yards, & nearly drove the green on a 320 yard par 4..." - how about that! And you still have to have a real job; you're not on the Tour, since you're that good? Guess what: I hit my best drives about 230 yards and I don't care who knows about it! Who hits 300 yard drives and still says "Shoots in the 80s"? Better start reviewing (& learning to hit) some putters!

Customer Service

Not very responsive - called to tell them I'd lost a headcover (someone pulled it off the club at my local muni when I was away from my bag) & they said they'd send a new one. Never got it. Probably laughed at me after hanging up the phone. Had same problem with GBB2 - got 2 new ones in the mail the same week. This driver's for sale on eBay!
