Ping Ti SI Drivers

Ping Ti SI Drivers

DESCRIPTION

From Ping: At 323cc the TiSI is the largest, totally custom-fit titanium driver available today. More importantly (for most golfers), it's also one of the longest-hitting drivers on the market.

This driver has upgraded me from 220-230 yds to 240-250 w/ some 270-280 yds. This is bound to take some pressure off my short game. My normal shot w/ my Gravity Back is a slight draw. I have more of a tendancy to fade this club but with the extra distance , who cares? No snap hooks!! Better control!

I literally hit the TiSi 25-30 yds past where I hit the Firesole! That's three clubs less per approach shot! Plus this club is a lot straighter than the Firesole (which wasn't that bad).

I also get 15-20 yds more than I got with the DeepRed 10.5*. The loft on the DeepRed wasn't as bad as I thought, but that 2-1/4* closed face occasionally gave me a serious case of "The Lefts". (Haven't had the chance to hit the 9.0* DeepRed, which is only 1* closed.) The DeepRed was definitely a slicer's driver.

I couldn't hit the d*mn TM 360 worth a cr*p, mostly because the face was too closed for me. Definitely a slicer's driver (aka: hooker's nightmare). Might've been OK if it came with different face configurations (closed, straight, open, etc.), but of course it doesn't.

The advantage to the TiSi is you can custom order the right JX hosel for your swing. I demo'ed the 10* RUD off and on for three weeks. Since I have a shallower swing with a tendency toward a draw, I've found the draw face (the 'D' of RUD) to be a bit closed for me, it was more suited to my partners that hit a fade or slice (over the top swings). I ordered the RUS (straight face, no draw or fade bias) and am totally thrilled with this club. I can hit the normal soft draw or weaken my grip to hit fades on demand!

Bottom line, this club goes a MILE in part because it is the straightest springy-faced driver on the market. But be sure to get fit for these clubs! If you can't hit one of these, you are hitting the right driver with the wrong hosel for your swing. You can't just pick one up off the rack! Get a couple of demo's with different hosel configurations or test at the range (or better yet go to a Ping demo day) and get the right setup for YOUR SWING. You'll never go back to one-size-fits-all drivers!

The only reason I'm giving the TiSi a value rating of 5 stars is that it earned it, even with the steep $350 price tag.

I am starting to think that 13 - 17 y/o youths tend towards exageration. They all seem to hit this club 300 yards or more!!!!

Well, I am a middle aged guy who can now hit 230 to 250, and that's 30 to 50 more than before I got the Ping.

I love it. I feel like a "golfer" for the first time in my life. It's so easy to hit. All you hackers out there, go and get some good equipment like this, and, maybe you will stop being hackers. (worked for me!!)

Also, have you noticed that 90% of the people on this site who trash this club also recommend Calloway? Is this maybe some dirty tricks from Calloway to keep the Ping score lower than a perfect 5? Nah!! They wouldn't do that.

This is a solid club, good feel, easy setup. This club will not solve a bad swing, if you are 15 plus handicap you should stay with Callway products, good golfers are able to crush this club. At the Masters this year, it was the number two drivers used, number one among college players today.

This is an update review from myself about the club.
First of all, this club is good for you, gents? My opinion is just "sucks". Since I bought this club, I started struggling to hit ball straight. Even though I did not have my old club and worked so hard, the club is not for me. My previous review was posted for few days since I bought it and I hit against net not driving range or anything. However, I totally changed my opinion now. The main reason why the club may produce a terrible inconsistency. I think it is caused by design of the club and a stock shaft matching. If I hit a ball with off-centre, the ball will fright unpredictable direction. People buying this club why the reason is "forgiveness". Wrong. If you were going to buy with that reason, this expensive club will bite you. I can also feel the shaft "waggle" during the impact. If you are relatively skillful to be able to hit a ball at a centre of the clubbed, you can see the sweetest long air-bourne shot. Besides so many serious golfer will require(desire) to change the stock shaft to different manufacturer. That means you will find out the extraordanaly expensive club in the end. And we do not want to do that. I agree and no doubt that I am a high-handycapper. No complain about that.
I suggest to buy this club from well-knowledged fitter at least Otherwise it will cost you !!
P.S. I got a chance to visit Taylormade demo day, and found 320 regular tm lite shaft is much more controlable, easy and consistent than Ping Tisi. Sorry Ping but Taylormade 320 is too good.

I have been eyeing these clubs for some time know and was given the oppertunity to play a round of golf with 10 degree Ti Si. When I hit it on the sweet spot it would travel about 10 yards farther than my GBB. When I didn't hit the sweet spot, it still went far and stayed close to the fairway if not on it. I have hear several people complain that the club will crack on the face and have overheard golfers say that the back weight has fallen off on several players. This sounds hard to believe that Ping would allow a one of their clubs to be produced this way. Because of the poor workmanship on the club I will probably not purchase at such a high price and keep on playing with my GBB. Will continue to keep looking for a club that will out perform the one I currently use.

Customer Service

I like their irons and have had some work done on them with GREAT success. Their customer service worked on my irons and got them back to me within a week. It is ashame that they are having problems keeping their drivers on the range without falling apart.

I tried this club at the Range yesterday and i seemed to crush the ball further than ever before. The club head is so huge. I seemed to just launch the ball off the face. Although the balls seem to spray left and right around the target line. A few straight ones but they mostly sprayed. The Titleist 975D seems to be better for me. Try before you buy.

I do not own the ISI Titanium but I have tried it on several occasions. Let me tell you that it is a well manufactured product, but is very expansive. I cannot hit the thing. It looks like a mailbox looking down at it, and it makes the shaft way to whippy. I can barely get it in the air and when I do, it slices mad. It is not for me, maybe the smaller version that came out will be better. I would recommend that people try it (I didn't come here to drive people away from this product) because many people do like it, and it seems to go pretty deep for them.

I hit the ball really far, however, PING seems to have a construction problem with their clubs. I cracked the face a weeks after I got it, they replaced it, no problem and installed a UST ProForce for only $23 extra. Then I cracked it again. Sent it back. Replaced. Cracked. Sent back. Replaced. I have cracked the head 5 times on this crappy club! I just got it back last week from being fixed for the 4th time and within 15 hits it had a hairline crack across the entire second-to-top scoreline! It sounded pretty cool to hit after that, though. I am so mad at PING for making such a lousy product. I know a scratch golfer who has to have two PING drivers: so he has a backup when the other one cracks, usually about once a month! This last time me and some friends just beat everything out of the club before sending it back: I sent it back with the face hanging on by just a 1/4 of metal near the toe. It's cracked on the sole, the groove, and connected at the toe and the face was hanging off the head like a door! If anyone has had similar experiences with this piece of crap club please email me: Ozc1500@aol.com. Thanks. I think I'm switching to a Titleist 975D; I can't take this anymore!

Customer Service

All five times I've broken the head they've had it back within 2 weeks. I can bet you this: as soon as they stop warrantying these drivers, they'll become extinct because of thier cheap construction. Read my review.
